Looking for someone to maybe help us out and take our car from Willowmore through to J-Bay the Saturday morning....I know they have a vehicle transfer service but the cost is R450 per transfer.

We are riding for Cape Brewing Co. so will pay the driver with a few bottles of awesome craft beer!

rather pay the R450 for transfer, I've used it a few times in various events, well worth it. It just takes the worry & stress away & you can enjoy the ride. Between you & your partner(s) or even the sponsor split the costs. That's how we always do it.

I think a bit of undertraining for the Trans is no problem, start slow ,eat all the time and just sit the bunches.

Once you enter the real baviaans at Yellow woods take it easy its where the climbing starts.

Dont drink too much Energy drink it f,s up your tummy, and then your energy level goes one way.

Swop between water and whatever energy drink and coke mixed with water.

Most important dont stuff around in the check points --then you will have a good ride.

Can't help you with the transportation, but bring a few bottles of that awesome craft beer with you for me. Sure it will go down nicely after the race :whistling: :P

In the FAQ's it says "Yes, there will be mechanical assistance at atleast 2 checkpoints." Being my first time I'd like to plan spares etc. Does any of the regulars know which checkpoints these will be or do they only tell us at the briefing?

There is one at the top of Bergplaas (CP4) for sure, not sure about the other one, might be at Komdomo(CP 5) where Magiclight usually have their charging service as well.

I have never had to do any more maintenance than a chainrepair and snotplug in the last 4 years.

9 hours is close to podium

All depends on the weather. Last year 9hrs was good for a top 10. Winning time was 8h17.

Yup, this race has become an intuition. A slight change to the team this year, but we're still looking for that podium.

Keep an eye out for The Pink Fluffy Monsters!

It's my first. Pretty happy with where my training is, BUT, I changed my bike on Monday night. #Gulp. I've gone from a 26er dual sus to a 29er hardtail as I just got a brilliant deal for a new bike, so couldn't resist.

Took the puppy out for a 45km spin this afternoon and I'm very happy.

My friend did the race in 13:30 last year, we conservatively hoping for 12-15, just taking it easy, riding within ourselves and our heart rate.

We did say we'd like to get over bergplaas before it gets dark, but let's see how the wind blows. :)
