Did you survive pal?

Yes my friend we finished in 17:09 i think..........we had a rider that was not suppose to cycle (some flu/cold), we had to nurse him all the way.I felt strong all the way and then another team mate puked his lungs out and never ender broke him into pieces !!! But we finished as a team !!!! . You did very well yourself !!!

Wikus did not lie when he said " ... and for the rest of you, it's an adventure".

Team Coasters (59) crossed the line a around 3:42am, tired but elated - all 4 riders safe and smiling. What a ride! So glad we decided to take a support driver - our unsung hero on the day. We had failing lights at #5 and #7. Without his backup we'd have been crawling along in the dark.

Well done everyone - especially the guys that stuck it out and finished with a time of 23:24. True spirit and guts to keep going and finish regardless of what the trail throws in your way.

Thanks, when original team mates pulled out, strategy changed.

Starting right at the back made it difficult to get to the front, but we had fun and a few pukes a long the line :)

Apparently there was a nasty split that ended up in an additional 20km's and some uber climbing. Bro in law was lying first in mixed and only came in 3rd because of this bad turn.

I didn't see Geddan in the lead group - but then again, between the dust, sweat and suffering I didn't see much.

I think Wikus put that GPS route up on the web on purpose - apparently plenty of people got quite worried at that fork when the GPS told them to turn around.

Anyway - that's the same split that's been in 10 of the 11 previous events - nothing new.

To all those people who finished on the other side of midnight - you are the guys and girls that I really admire. Well done. Riding fast is easy, riding long is for the real champions.

My 1x10 didnt behave and probably lost my chain about 4/5 times. quite irritating at times. Stopped and chased back. It was hard. 1x10(34) on fangs was tough. felt like pushing my bike.

our team rode in walk in doctor kits, I suffered from the start, suffered the first cramp at 50km, we had to stop and set the damper on the front shock and let some air out of the tyres, we all rode hardtails and suffered bad on those roads, to the gentleman that offered me his crampblock pills, you saved my life buddy, 5 mins after I took the pills I started feeling the legs, but blew again on the Bergplaas climp, the soup and coffe gave me some needed warmth and we did a nice trek to 176km where I was feeling well, but after the chocolate milk and the chip roll I just never found the legs again and suffered all the way to the finish and finished with a time of 15h30m
