Well guys, i posted a while ago where you are riding that required a dropper post, well, hmmm. (I have a hardtail 29r)

Well this weekend i rode Jonkershoek singletrack from the "Saaltjie" down (apparently this is for downhill riders only) and I must admit that there were times that a dropper post could have been handy. But is was my first ride, but I think given another run and a cup of cement (to HTFU) things will be fine. Let's face it hard tails are not meant to ride DH trails, even if they are way easy.

just my 2randellas.

Not only for Downhill riders, Dick - it's only meant to be ridden down hill. As in single direction only.

I have a dropper on a non-DH bike that I do not use on DH trails and wouldn't have it any other way. Forget about what bike and cleats and lycra and sheet and figure what works for your type of riding. You can fit a dropper on any bike a dropper will fit into, but if it doesn't make sense for your riding style then it will be a waste. Same can be said about guys riding LT bikes on smooth gravel.

There isn't a piece of single track in Jonkers that can't do with a dropper. IMO. For how I ride.

I wouldn't even think of riding Jonkers without a dropper...

I got a Reverb and da udder day I checked a chesty mount gopro vid I made coming down all the snakes in Tokai and only realised then how often I'm hitting that button! Dropping for the jumps and drops and raising for the pedally winding flowing bits!

My KS LEV honestly feels like I'm cheating through drops and single track. I can't believe I waited so long. I'm still learning about where to use it, but I find I instinctively reach for it in some situations where it makes a big difference. Best upgrade I've made.
