Nice idea. -------------------------------------------------------- So, after a crazy week here on the Hub SA, what with all the suspensions, warnings and all round madness, I have to ask myself what the heck is going on? Intolerance, fighting, trolling, baiting seems to have become the norm. I will be the first to stand up and be counted and apologise for any wrong doing and bad behaviour. We, as a so called "community",have made the Hub SA not a nice place to hang out as of late. I have made both friends and foes, yet recently I have become somewhat disillusioned by what has been taking place. Matt(Admin)has given us a fantastic platform to discuss, argue, SHOUT about all things cycling and other more trivial topics, for that, thank you. But, we need to get things back on track,as I'm sure all would agree? So how do we do go about doing this and make the Hub SA a more pleasant place to be? Not the initial, buggy, my.common.sense.is.better.than.your.common.sense.v1.24 but the more acceptable basic.common.sensev1.98 should do the trick. Sadly, there are too many leechers, and not nearly enough seeders for this to be a viable option. So - tolerance v2014 should be on everyone's download list this morning. Also - study It Is My Choice Whether to Take Offence or Not and I Must Resist Spur of the Moment Retaliations to get an idea on what proper discourse should be. It is not just a general derogatory term for a group, but a very strong negative personal reflection on an individual. It is always negative, no matter in what context it is used. In South Africa a label like this can be extremely damaging to an individual. I would take serious offense if it was directed at me and would insist on it being removed with an apology attached. (So much for wise people not getting involved in a messy fight. )Bigot: a person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people, ideas, etc The term and definition thereof according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary is apt in this case.
