I officially hate this thread .....

Fanie, what do you do with the excess ?

no excess at this stage but I do give some to our nanny (she helps me quite a bit as she is from the transkei and knows a bit about veggies)

Leftovers go to the compost drums

what you plant mainly depends on what you want to eat, but my 2c

beans, easy to get going and not very fussy and will provide lots.

carrots require some space but also not very fussy.

In that case I'll start planting steak and lamb chops tomorrow [emoji6]

2 x 50mm ball valves

1 x T piece

2 x elbows

1 x 50mm reducer

2 x Kreepy pipes

1 x Plastic Basin

Now my bath and shower water can flow either into a 100L container or into waste water by the twisting of two leavers.

So much easier than carrying buckets out of the bathroom.

And this for under R 200

My shower is piped into the sewer pipe.. Not keen on messing with that.. But the other bath flows into the drain.... I reckon I could somehow utilise that

On the veggies front.. We have tomatoes beans and butternut about to be ready. The greens get eaten as we go along but largely feed to the tortoises. Worried that the butternut is a bit pale... But will wait and see what happens

Awesome, been toying with the idea for a jojo tank for rain water and connecting it to the toilet. Flushing is the biggest waste of clean water. Bath, shower water will be perfect for this too.

anyone have advice on how to keep cats out of my garden?

i'm tired of picking up cat **** in my veggie garden and having the flower beds smelling of cat pee.

my solution will end up with some very disgruntled neighbours, a few dead cats and a very happy Jack Russel
