Got into A at 6:20. Competition is going to be hectic!

Made it into A, so see you on the start line. Really looking forward to some "A" race action.

When you coming down to the track again?

I'd like to know too.  It would also be nice to have transparency on how the rules work.

Its my first 94.7 - Completed Lost City for seeding purposes in 3:41:05.  This got me in K batch at 07h03.  Racetec told me (via email) that seeding preference is given to repeat Cycle Challenge riders.  Any other first timers out there - what's your batch?

My first time as well and got an A start... I targeted Rand water race big time for seeding and got a decent result there so not sure if that played a big role.

Been training hard from April for this race so got to kick it up a bit now to finish off the year nicely. Not bad for my first year on a road bike

25-30Min easily added they reckon. I have heard that some of the teams even reckon closer to 40min with the additional 400m odd of climbing

I don't think so.

There is 450m of new climbing, but 250m on the old route sections that have been removed. Nett increase is only 200 metres, which lets face it, is not a huge amount for someone who is reasonably fit.

I reckon it will add 6-8 mins to the winning elite time.

The Pro teams will be close to a 2h30 on this route

I don't buy that for one second...  I'll put good money on it that pro teams will easily break 2h15.

The queen stages of the tour de france are on average 220km with +- 6km of climbing and typically ridden at averages exceeding 38 km/hr.  If pro's can't hit 38 km/hr on a 95km race with less than 2000 m of climbing there's a big problem...

Agreed.

Times for the last 3 years range from 2.09 to 2.12, give or take a few seconds.

This year it will be no more than 2.20. The new route is not as difficult as some riders are making out.
