Failed to reach 100 pages this Friday

Not sure if that's good or bad

Never hit 100 pages but has had almost 85k views.

Will the doubting thomases (you know who you are), and pseudo lawyers please dispense with the annoying cross examination of the OP's integrity. He has humoured you, and patiently answered unnecessary questions. Splitting hairs isn't going to change the big picture.

  1. His mate didn't know he was purchasing a fake machine
  2. The OP didn't know he was being fleeced

Analysis paralysis. He was taken for a ride, so to speak, by a dishonest LBS that he had a long-standing relationship with before he purchased the (unbeknownst to him) fake Pina. Nothing more to it. Give the "clever" questions a rest, for crying out loud.

As a rule I prefer to let others speak for themselves but he didn't know he was buying a fake. When I came back from Australia I told him the sad news only after I had it confirmed by ASG. He has subsequently been interviewed.

thanks Andrew, and happy birthday

If they did that in SA, no parastatal would have any management left.... oh, wait, they don't have management anyway, just fat pigs feeding!

Btw, Koos Bekker of Naspers, is the only SA CEO that doesn't earn a salary. Yes, he gets zip, unless the company makes a profit, then he gets paid in shares. Perhaps that is why they are such a well run business. I like it.

Sorry for the hijack.

Not to be the fly in your ointment, but he makes billions, whether Naspers turns a profit or not. Don't be fooled by company spin.

Time for a Fire Sale @ CS.... Me thinks there will be retail space available soon @ Broadacres...

Half of worthless remains worthless, I wouldn't buy a valve cap from those snakes.

Two things I've learnt from this thread:

  1. When I see a Pinarello Dogma on the road, it's most probably a Chinarello Dodgy.

Exactly why I did not replace my trashed frame which insurance was funding with a Pinarello. I bought something else.

So, if ASG want to know if fakes are affecting their brand, I am a sample of one that proves it

Eddy, astute purchasing through an AUTHORISED dealer is safe as houses.

An insurance company would replace like-for-like, at no risk to the policyholder, IF all the paperwork was in order. Sounds like you opted for second choice, sorry to hear that mate.

I had no problem being settled by my Insurance Company. I was given the settlement amount and go ahead to order a new bike in an hour or two.

When it came to decide on what to buy, Pinarello was excluded, not because I thought my bike shop was going to sell me a fake, but because I knew most other Pinas on the road were fake.

I bought a C59 frame instead.
