Ryder did win the giro... It's not like it was Griepel was hanging onto the lil' escarabajo's wheel up there!

What does escarabajo mean?

Was a term coined by the early Colombian / Cafe De Colombia pioneers in the european tours. Means 'beetle' and was used by Parra, Herrera, etc.

A decision has been made and all teams will take the start today, which is a relief. We can expect an official statement from the teams later today.

Teams are looking for time to be removed from NQ

How to is not clear

Oi!

(If there is enough agreement within the peloton, then this is possible)

After battling through the snow and freezing conditions yesterday, the peloton have got clear skies and sunshine for today's stage. Perhaps the good weather will go some way to abating the ill-feeling from yesterday.

!!!

There were a few DNFs after yesterday's stage, although it's a surprise that there weren't more considering the conditions. The riders who failed to finish yesterday are Daniele Colli & Mauro Finetto (both Neri Sottoli), Arnaud Courteille (FDJ), Thomas Dekker (Garmin-Sharp), Alessandro Petacchi (Omega Pharma-QuickStep) and Michele Scarponi (Astana)

Deep down I have to admit I will enjoy it if they do detract time and he goes out and truly work them over again. Me bad.

If they do take time off NQ the most they can take is 1:36 - his gap at the bottom of the descent - which still keeps his in pink. Fair enough I reckon given the "hold position and no attacks on descent" communication.

So RH almost beat NQ - impressive! What's more impressive is that he outclimbed Evans, UranUran, Pozzi, Kelderman, Majka and all the other GCers. Well impressive!

What's fair is fair

I dunno how they are going to combat Quintana - he is superior

A bad day might. But he's had them already
