'Dale Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 “The teams … presented the offer to the jury and the organization [Wednesday] morning at the start,” Ochowicz told VeloNews. “After our meeting was convened, and presented our position, and the jury denied our request. “The request was unanimous by the by all teams that the time for the gap for the three leaders would be taken at the bottom of the descent. So visualize a railroad crossing, so they got through there, the train comes, now you start the watch. And that would be the time, not the finish line,” Ochowicz continued. “Everybody agreed to that. That’s what was presented to the UCI jury, and the UCI jury denied the request. The [race] organization [RCS Sport] accepted the request.” Read more at http://velonews.competitor.com/2014/05/news/two-days-later-stelvio-controversy-continues-broil-giro-ditalia_329990#ZStoycWFb7K8qXcs.99
ScottCM Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Got to love someone who after a great win is humble:“I felt good today. I thought it could be my day. After all the difficult moments in this race - like two days ago over the Stelvio when Josu had to put me in the car to warm me up – and being in Italy away from home the last six years, this stage has repaid all my hard work. Today is the beginning, I hope, of great things for me. I want to dedicate this win to Josu, and to my team who stayed around me at all the difficult moments. We are very much a family.”- Julian Arredondo TALUS and tombeej 2
hboli4 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Has to be, he saved his legs for today I reckon.... Got to agree with NQ being the favourite, I reckon he will try and put as much time as possible into the others today and defend tomorrow (or gooi full throttle again and drive his dominance home)... Other alternative is to hold back and see how the others go as he has the luxury of going last...and make sure he has something in the tank tomorrow.
TALUS Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 The youngsters may be overeager and go out too hard (excluding NQ who is not young ito racing at all) tombeej 1

Jaco-fiets Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 “I have to give a big thanks to my director and coach Josu [Larrazabal]. I wanted to attack at the bottom of the last climb but he told me from the team car, ‘no, no no! take it easy, not yet!’ Then with four kilometers to go he said, ‘Julian now!’ I won this stage to a great degree from his advice.”- Julian Arredondo What is this guy's stats with regards to height and weight? He looks short but seems to carry a lot of muscle. Can't be too lite then. Refreshing to see someone like that be 1 of the best climbers other than the normal 45kg odd bulimic case zabalad, gummibear and ScottCM 3

Jakkals. Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I think NQ should ride conservative today in the TT. Give them that time back, come out tomorrow and just ride minutes into all of them on the final climb. r0adrunner 1
