Why on earth would you want to introduce athletes foot or worse from a public bathroom floor onto your important bits!!!

Put a towel down first

1. So that you don't flood the area with all your splashing about

2. To protect your bits from athlete's foot

V/A gym in longstreet do have bike racks at the entrance and under cover

I use the Zone Fitness gym at the Cape Quarter, just across the road from my office and pay R169/month for my membership ..... it is a joke actually, in the last 4 years I have only used the tread mill once, done stretching when I had a tight hammy and probably did about 5 boxing sparring sessions when one of the personal trainers needed a sparring partner for one of his clients.

At R169/month though it is a decent deal.

Those work well if you have sun!

In summer the wife would put that out for me and when I get home it would be a quick shower out doors .... feels good :)

Mmm thats not bad and its right by my work too - i think i recall them saying something about R300 / month for membership not R169, but i shall enquire about this! Thanks

Might have to check ... been with them since they started and they have not jacked up the rate ... where do you work exactly in the area as now that I think about it I think I get preferential rates due to working at the Cape Quarter Premisses

Just an update.

Went to Long Street Baths this morning for the first time, bit out of my way but it works and costs a measly R5, might start commuting in even earlier so i can go for a swim after the ride haha, like doing a triathlon backwards!

Damned ... not bad, it equates to around R125 per month then, assuming a 25 work week....

A really smart solution, now why didn't I think of that?

are the showers and changing areas clean and are they "bicycle friendly"?

Lock the bike up outside by one of the many poles, changing area is clean and so are the showers, although there is only two and only one with a door, haha - get what you pay for!

Ask the guy there if you cant lock your bike in the outside area by the pool or just before you enter the mens rooms downstairs there is an outside area.
