Thanks for that - it seems crazy that they expect you to drive in some cases 100km round trip just to pick up a number and a bag of rubbish.

Did Emperors Palace Classic last year without a number. One or two of the officials had some questions but wasn't a big issue.

Probably just depends on the official

You can give the organisers a call to explain - I picked up my number on the morning of the race last year.

My saddle height is fixed, so no riding an hour into me this time  (hoping)

I hope so too  . You know the drill, hang on to the bunch for dear life.

I just asked something similar on the news thread for the Campus2campus, I dont understand why they also only do registration up until 4pm, I mean, the shop is open til mostly 6pm and if I can get the time to drive the 50km to fourways, it would be after work. Dont know if ASG will answer my question at all.

I emailed D2D and explained. Response was get a family member or friend to collect. No collection on Sunday morning. I'll be the guy racing without a number.

This got me thinking - why not establish a Hub network whereby any Hubber close to number pickup volunteer to collect race numbers for Hubbers who live far away from these venues. Then one can have a lekker Hub gazebo at each race where Hubbers can meet, pick-up numbers beforehand and share a cold one afterwards.

O ja, starting in AL - gonna be faaaaaaast.
