No.......because I like to pass you at speed scaring the $h*t out of you

It's great entertainment :whistling:

haha careful now, we will start debating walking or riding with rear view mirrors and then the debate will move on to wearing indicators and so on...can get messy and then the thread will get locked

I have a bell on my commuter bike and it the best piece of equipment I have ever invested in.

Pedestrians react really well to a bell - they take note without being offended (like they would be if you shouted at them).

Anyone who frequents park style single track should have one - it's a winner.

If you trail run or MTB with earphones in, i'm afraid we cannot be friends (Road riding too) ill let road running slide (purely because its so damn boring) I go into the mountains to get away from the noise.

I went riding with a mate in the alps last year, and all the trail riders have bells on their bikes. Its common courtesy over there, and the other trail users step aside and greet with a smile. Completely stress free.

it depends entirely what music means to you...to me, running in the trees with music I love playing in my ears is as close to heaven as I will get....(ok there are other things closer....but you know what I mean)

disclaimer: I generally run on jeep track and avoid singletrack because it would piss me off coming across a runner on fast singletrack

I have no available handlebar real estate on my MTB, with shifters, lights, brakes, shock lockout, dropper post remote, computer and go pro. Now you want to clutter up the front end of my whip with a bell as well. Sorry I will just whistle or shout

I have a bell that you will probably hear with headphones in....

Best bell ever

I've got a similar bell on my MTB. Salvaged from an old bike. Simple, easy, small, and works.

It's setup close to the grips, so I can trigger it without moving my hands.

It's extremely valuable on certain trails. I usually give kids and dogs lots of space and warning since they can walk into your line when you ring the bell.

If you don't have a bell, a simple "hello" is better than a "move!"

If we get upset with cars for buzzing, and want 1.5m, shouldn't we set the example with pedestrians?

I think we should have easily visible number plates on our bicycles, front and rear and pay a license fee every year.

What I suppose you want to ride on the road as well? everyone knows that the road is only for cars

You're doing it wrong!

Shifters, shock lockout, dropper post, computer and go pro are all unnecessary extras.

Declutter your bike and your quality of life will improve

For sure , it you ride on the road . Bicycles really damage the roads and should also pay !! They should also get e-tags .

I have the perfect solution for your problem.

You don't even have to take your hands of the bars to make runners hear you coming from behind.

Dude, all that riding around in the forest, catching air, railing berms, sluicing down dropoffs is pretty boring unless you can tune your ride as you go, record every moment and then upload to strava, youtube, and training peaks. You are clearly missing out on all the data with this "riding" stuff getting in the way

I like the ding ding my bell makes and it's damn effective. Sure it's not ideal for all trails but for places like the spruit, it should be law. That Said, I have had some FILTHY looks from a few of the "sun shines out of my naught" walkers on the spruit after a wee ding ding.

For sure, forgot about that, cyclists should be allowed to ride on freeways!
