If you enjoyed the job Fincher did on Seven and Fight Club, give it a go.

Gotta be honest... No, not really  ^_^

I'm not saying he's a bad director or that they are bad movies - in fact, I think they deserve all the accolades. But I didn't enjoy them. Too depressing and pessimistic. I watch movies mostly for entertainment, so I prefer them light-hearted, with lots of action and humour.

So Fincher, Nolan, Lynch and a few others are all on my list of directors I tend to avoid.

Nah, I didn't mind the female cast at all. Just finished watching The Conjuring 2, I was hoping for a scary horror, but that wasn't scary at all.

Just watched Shot Caller. Excellent film.

was pretty darn intense. Shot for inadvertently reminding me to watch it.

its like a movie version of The Night Of. Despite the parallel theme, its still damn good viewing.

I just simply cannot. i watched the trailer once and decided I was not gonna ruin ghostbsters by watching that. I remember reading an article about a nerd that does pop culture reviews, reviewed it negatively - like many did because..well...its ghostbusters. He got massive backlash calling him sexist and misogynist because he didnt like it because it was women instead of men...despite never saying that. That whole thing just put me off even more.

it will therefore go into the little vault of movies that I just cant bring myself to watch.

Message From A King (2016) 8/10

A riveting, moody, intense movie to watch. Maybe I'm not completely impartial, because a) I'm a Chadwick Boseman fan and b) he plays a South African (named Jacob King) who goes to LA to look for his sister, but I really liked this movie. It reminded me of Drive with Ryan Gosling, as at times the movie is more of a character study than a thriller. As King finds out more about his sister and how dark her life became, however, the tension builds up and you can feel the suppressed rage in a man who grew up in and survived the notoriously violent Cape Flats...
