Don't know why they felt the need to make the hobbbit a trilogy.. it really isn't a long book and they could've done it in one movie.. suppose gotta cash in hey.

I agree. Most of it is rubbish that wasn't in the book. They tried to make it too epic and lost the plot a bit, IMO. Both movies, I walked out feeling like they were fleecing me. I guess I'm just a sucker, because I will have to go see the last one too.

Yip and let's face it the book is more of a children's book than Lord of the Rings.

I also didn't think the movies were great..

fantasy does not excite me at all...have not watched or read the hobbit or the lord of the rings...and have absolutely no desire to...tried to watch lord of the rings a while back and got bored....same goes for that avatar movie

LOTR is all about the books - excellent read

Avatar is all about the CGI, was lekker to watch it at the cinema

Its strange because I generally dont like fantasy either, but I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings, the story is excellent and the sets something quite magnificent.

The last Hobbit story was a bit of a let down I thought, I enjoyed it for what it was, but for me anyway it wasn't as good as the Lord of the rings.

Which brings us the the Harry Potter series..........?

read Legend by Gemmell.. brilliant brilliant brilliant.. a real page Turner.

Now if there is a trilogy they must make into a movie it would be the those.. damn.. would he great.. I reckon the actor that Played Drogo would be great as a younger Druss.

No never read the books either, I missed one or two of the series on the movies, but by the power of DSTV and the untold reruns I have since watched them all. They were okay I concur, the first one I did think was really good, but as they progressed they became rather predictable, still worth a mention here I think.

Big thumbs down here, I disliked this movie intensely, apart from the visual attraction of Uma Thurman, I thought it had little going for it, unnecessarily violent and relied more on shock content that story line.

My eldest read some of the books when he was 8.. but after the 3e movie both my boys were over the Harry Potter craze.

Ag and lets not mention Twilight here.. those are doff Vampires.
