I wonder what would have been the outcome if they took a hardtail, specced it the same but made 4..in each of the materials listed. Lets consider some pros and cons of the materials CarbonPros: Its light, Its stiff, cool kids / racesnake factor, can be shaped into many forms(molds)Cons: Its expensive, It fails catastrophically AluPros: Its light enough, cheap, can be formed into various shapes(hydroforming)Cons: Cant be repaired, got a definite life span ito stresses until without warning it fails/sheers. Unforgiving ito compliance. Not desirable TitaniumPros: Hipster factor, light, frame for life material that doesnt age, compliantCons: Expensive, standard tubes and forms / specialized skills needed to work on, considered by some to feel spongy so not the stiffest. SteelPros: Compliant, tough material that won't typically fail or if it fails catastrophically so.Cons: Heavy, ferrous metal that rusts if not treated, flex, cannot be formed into special forms...standard tubes are what is available.

Hi, if it's a tapered steerer then I have a Fox 26" with a thru-axle in immaculate condition.
