My wife is also sick of the bikes living in the house. I had to wait a long time for her mouth to stop moving before continuing my conversation...

Ha ha, I think it was she that sabotaged your tubeless!

I'm 1.81 thanks for the picture I will ask someone to build those stand similar to your setup.

You don't even need a special stand. I drilled 10mm holes on the wall and put steel tubing in the holes, covered the tubes with plastic pipe and an old tube, very easy and cheap.

Cool concept, but yeah. Maybe a bit on the pricey side.

Particularly when you can get a hook from BBB for about 1/20th of the price that does much the same thing.

My storage option,

each box holds shoes or helmet.

the center box holds all my spares ect.

Was simple to install and cheap(as i had the boxes already)

Made my holder with some old angle iron, am off cut of square bar from a friends dustbin in his workshop and sheet metal I had from a previous project. Took about an hour of welding and cutting. And a tin of red paint that also never got used! I park my Trance under the GT as it slots in perfectly in the useless space between the desk and the wall.post-12678-0-51075000-1409556170_thumb.jpgpost-12678-0-56024500-1409556187_thumb.jpg

I negotiated that the car park outside the outside room gets converted to a proper laundry (this is where the bikes was stored before (some on floor stands some on the wall) ..... and i get to use the garage for the bikes....

She did then move the chest freeezer in there as well .... small price to pay to have the garage for the bikes ...

by some i mean

3 x road bikes

2 mountain bikes (1 mine and 1 my sons)

1 Track bike

1 SS commuter

2 kiddies bikes (1 now to small for my diaugter)

And then there is the one that must still be bought ..... Another MTB - we wont go to the wheel size of that one .... lol

Now i just need to fit a workbench .....

I finally found a solution for my overcrowded wendy.

Simple. Cheap. Bikes can't fall over. Dog-proof.

Photo's not great, but basically its a rope with a loop, tied to the rafters, that lifts the backwheel off the ground from under the seat.

This is what I did for my 2 sons, in their bedrooms. The bikes are secure, don't get damaged and take up minimal space. We live in an old house with large rooms but no garage. What better solution than to keep your bikes close? Mine live in my study, mounted like theirs, but one above the other.

This is the next step in the storage solution: We built 8 boxes from 12mm plywood that are loose and can be stacked in various ways on a base that is mounted on lockable castors. It is supposed to be a bookcase, shoe, helmet, stuff storage for my 14 year old. The boxes are strong enough to sit on and easy to move around individually or on the castors. I suppose, with him being a teenager, it will soon be covered with smelly clothing .
