Gazzan Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I travel for work and probably do 3-4 VA classes per week. It's good for overall fitness and convenience but I find that if I only spin for a few weeks then get back on the MTB then I lack power and suffer on steep hills. Cargyrl 1
Cargyrl Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Spinning great cardio, bad strenght training.1 or 2 a week, with further weight training afterwards.Early Mornings, road bike on indoor tacx trainer, focus to power output and cadence. Rob K 1
CleatsnCleavage Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Spin classes once or twice a week at VA. However the 45 minute classes are too short and not enough 90min classes at suitable times for me. But I find it helps with my fitness, I recover faster at the top of my climbs when I am spinning. Better to spin than not cycle at all. ALso more engaging and entertaining than sitting at home on the IDT. So I mix it up, spinning, outdoor training and IDT.
SwissVan Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Use my own spinning bike and IDT at home, but when in SA i use the nearest VA spinning bikes. On my own not part of a spinning class, prefer to do my own thing....
L'Bie Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 On rollers in the lapa But it is the exception. I prefer to actually cycle outdoors.
nazmo Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I spin at gym in the week at night, when I cannot ride.I also crank a bit higher than the instructor. Its boring, and i dont enjoy it really, but much better than sitting on the couch. Fadhl 1

Pure Savage Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Once I started winning the spin classes I stopped going. Now I go and suffer away on the watt bikes in Virgin. Find with a proper interval workout I feel proper brocken afterwards. nazmo 1
nazmo Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 There's no watt bikes at KC too local probably.I find intervals on a spin bike, one hour worth makes you feel as if you did a 3 hour road ride. Can actually be an awesome workout
Help.Me. Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 IDT at home doing heart rate program just something i experienced : i have being on a spinning program for quite some time now 12 weeks. After the TB i took on weeks rest and then i started this week with the beginners level on the spinning program. I was not able to do everything ,it felt if i only started with the program!!!! Never ever did one session felt if i was getting fitter ?? What could be wrong?? Sorry for
TonyC Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I work rotations away from home and am away a few weeks at a time, at work I Spin one day and do weights the next for the week and rest on Sunday and I do a lot of races with no issues, its great and if done right its very beneficial.I also use pre recorded spinning classes from Youtube so its like being in a spinning class back home.it obviously doesnt beat being on the trail but its a great alternative.
dee_biker Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 + 1Â +1, only the long session once a week, 75min
