My seat post seems to be slipping a little each time I ride. I've looked around and found a few people suggesting copaslip as a solution. I have tightened it as far as it will go and still a bit slippery.

Any suggestions/ideas?

If you have a quick release seatpost clamp, replace it with a normal bolt, i have had the same issues with quick release seatpost clamps

I'll try that, thanks.

I did a 42km race with basically no seat because of an el-cheapo, pretty blue anodised seat clamp. Seat would drop almost instantly!

Throw it far away, if thats what you have, and but one with a bolt

Some carbon paste on the post is also recommended to prevent binding.

Copper slip is something used to prevent things seizing. Using it on the seat post might even help it slipping. Try replacing the quick release bot with normal bolt or carbon compound for slip if the frame is carbon.

First thing,

Use a bolt clamp like mentioned above.

Then, use a LITTLE grease and carbon assembly compound mixed, and cover the inserted and clamped part on the seatpost.

Torque to spec and problem solved.

Many happy miles...

is it a normal seatpost or an aero one?

Happened to me to just after I got my new Bike, kept on taking it back to the the Guy i bought it from, David Posthumus

On the last visit, he told me he went to Cervelo and got a Longer seatpost, it won't slip again. And it didn't.

In the lost City Classic as I went over the 3 Rail track I swore I saw something fly of my bike. But I was still riding so no worries, at the finish line some moron stopped just after the mats which caused us to brake super hard after sprinting. And I felt my seat post move forward while doing this,

When I stopped to investigate, I saw it was the seatclamp that popped out.

But then i thought why didn't my seat slip......

Took the post out, the MOFO put half of a broom stick inside my frame to prevent the seatpost from slipping. mothertrucker......./<Rant>
