Postal Strike?

so much unemployment yet we put up with people who don't want to do their jobs.....

Yup the oxygen thieves are working less than usual. They have been on strike for roughly 2 weeks, some places a bit shorter others a bit longer. I have been waiting for a parcel from Durban to Pta for about 2 weeks now. The Menlyn PO was "open" for business yesterday, but they cannot post anything or receive anything due to the main hub or something being on strike. So basically they sit around and do nothing, from 9 until close (or until the angry mob pitches up again)

I bought a item over the weekend on bidorbuy and when I asked the seller about the strike he said it was only the Speed Services department that was on strike. He said my parcel through normal postage with tracking number should be here before the end of the week. Parcel is sent from Joburg to here in the Limpopo province.

 

Will see if that is the case.

Yip post office is on strike. apparently its the Tswane, and witpos hubs, not sure which others are affected.

 

Some branches aren't even open, and have notices up saying that they not sure when the strike is going to end and they are going to open their doors again. other branches are open but wont accept new mail.

 

For online companies this is a nightmare, as finding alternatives is not always easy, as private companies either don't service all area's and other charge an arm and a leg to deliver to certain area's

Sent an item with Speed services on the 19th August , still stuck at the hub in JHB...

But apparently it's only the temp staff on strike and parcels should still be trickling through.

_{^{I've given up on the SA Postal service. They really do strike fairly often and it is not covered in the news at all. In addition I struggle to collect as I work in a high security environment and it is difficult to get away from work during the day and Saturday mornings I prefer cycling to queuing in a Post Office!}}

Fetched my ems parcel from china at Jhb int mail centre yesterday.

 

Everything was as slow as usual.

 

Do you just show up and give them the tracking number and your ID? Maybe I should make a plan and get someone to collect for me.

I am so fed up with these a***holes!! They are hardly ever actually working... and every time I order something from USA via the postal services, they go on strike!! Like now, I'm impatiently waiting for some service items.... Grrrrrrr It's already been 3 weeks wait
