has the UCI sorted out the rules for the hour record now?

Yebo:

The Merckx hour record is no more, the UCI announced on Thursday. Cycling’s governing body will ditch the 1972 mark and its bike-design rules in favor of a single, unified hour record using equipment regulations borrowed from modern track pursuit bikes.

Czech rider Ondrej Sosenka’s record of 49.7 kilometers will be the men’s mark to beat, as it is the farthest distance attained using a bike and position that are legal under current UCI pursuit bike regulations. Leontien Ziljaard-Van Moorsel holds the women’s record at 46.065km.

Pretty sure Tony Martin would smash the current record. It was a goal for Spartacus as well.

Looking forward to seeing Jens go hard one last time!

Jen's will always go hard. There isn't somthing like 'one last time' in the Voigt vocabulary.

His wife even says that he sleeps at a cadence of 90 rpm...

Jens isn't scared of failing

One of the attributes of a champ racer

The world will be watching with interest as it'll be one of many attempts.

Wiggo, Spartacus are but a few who's mentioned interest.

I think he is really giving it a go, but also doing it to break the ice. I know Spartacus wanted to do it, but UCI was unsure of rules, and they were team mates. Jens is the man, I think he is like, "boys stand back, let me take the first leap". well something along those lines.

If you want to retire why don't you just retire. Not even a month and this guy is desperate for more publicity. Or is it Trek?

His riding style, where he moves his front wheel all over the place, and his lack of ITT pedigree, apart from 1 Team TT in 2001 in a GT, gives him little chance of a record.

But hey, if I'm wrong, I'll buy the first hundred hubbers who claim a beer at the Wine2Whales this year, both on day 1 and day 2 afternoons!
