You ladies are sooooo cewt when you pull out your handbags,

Indeed, check the OP's last post.

He still assumes that he is a better rider than most of us hackers on here.

As his buddy suggested, why even really bother.

At least it's been made very clear to us that the precious Spruit is not ours to use freely and at leisure.

"let me make it simple" you mean, unless you have a split personality?

No where have i barked orders or told people what they have to do, I asked nicely.

please provide some useful feedback or take your stupidity somewhere else.

The only stupidity here is where you started barking orders on your opening post and then continued to do so.

A little wake up call, there are many people who can ride bikes around Jozi and The Spruit belongs to any of us who pay taxes.

Are you going to bark at/appeal to the dog walkers how and where they should walk their dogs, the runners where on the trail they should run ?

Quite arrogant and laced with stupidity itself when you look back on it, innit ?

Dude, get a life, please.

Touché

Perhaps even one outside of your precious Spruit.

Your opening post is laced with insult and assumptions, did you really expect everyone to stand back and do a slow handclap ?

Faaaark - can't we just tar the spruit and be done with it?

I thought is was tarred. Except for the river crossing at William Nicol. That section is stone paved.

Honestly though. All the sections that are being smoothed out are ridiculous.

Like the filled drain at fratellis.

The "Ruts filled at the virgin active. Etc

It's turning into a bit of a highway.

Don't get me wrong I love some of the work the spruit fairy does. I thing some of the single track, jumps and routes are awesome for what he has to work with on the spruit.

But it is a mtb trail and as such it should be more off-road than dirt on road.

please show me where I have barked orders!

It starts here :

It has come to my attention that many people that ride the spruit do not know how to take corners.

Many of the corners in the windy tree sections and even out in the open have been ridden straight.

There could be a few reasons to this.

- You are going too fast and therefore can't make the corner, you are riding beyond your limit, practice taking corners because you cant cut them in races.

- you are going for the KOM, don't bother, they are too close to straight paths to pick up a diffrent trail.

- You simply dont know how to corner, I would suggest some skills clinics.

If you do prefer to ride in straight lines please keep to the open paths or roads and leave the trails to be fun and windy.

On this note I would advise you

A - Learn how to corner.

B - go slower.

C - learn how to bunny hop.

Some obstacles may appear in all of the straight lines in the not too distant future.

You can thank the Spruit fairies for improving your riding skills free of charge.

All from assumptions, in actual fact if one half reads it between the lines, it looks like you are referring to the "racing snakes" or "marathon riders"

Has it ever occurred to you that many people take their kids ,wives and girlfriends along The Spruit, many of these people couldn't really be bothered what you want, they are more interested in keeping the bike upright and get fit, and if all pans out OK, we might even see them enter events and become regular cyclists.

And this, ladies, is why the spruit sucks. Moan moan. Nothing is ever good enough. Whether it's the trail quality, other riders, walkers, joggers, doggers and vagrants. There is forever a moan about someone, something sometime. Please. You are beginning to sound like Ride mag or DSTV.. Repeat repeat repeat

Its not Friday yet. Let's all chill a little please.

I for one appreciate the hard work some hubbers and the fairies put into the trails, jumps etc. and beers are on me for the improvements. The dumbing down of the spruit however by smoothing everything over 1 inch out has to stop, and I support Peaches efforts to get people to ride the path "as built" and not make a straight drag strip.

Only one problem however, he is appealing to the wrong crowd, his client base for his appeal won't really be found on here.

You have a valid point, but at least he is trying to move things along in the right direction - it cannot be anything but disheartening to say the least to see a ton of work they put in to build some fun stuff for everyone destroyed by a bunch of straighteners who put no effort in to trail maintenance or building.
