Also decided to skip this race, this year, firstly I'm already entrered for Origin of Trails & Second the price.

Last year was the same did OOT fri & Sat & the Sunday the legs was toast needless to say I got dropped like a hot potatoe up hels, from the Elite bunch. With that said if I pick up a free or cheap entry closer to the time & can still do substitution I'll be on the line.

Wouldn’t it be nice if organisers of not only this event, but other events as well join The Hub for a predetermined day and time which is advertised on The Hub and engage in an hour question and answer session with members alternatively that a selection of relevant questions from members are selected, presented to organisers and the questions and answers furnished to all members?

This idea makes so much sense to those of us who have invested the time to be part of the community here, as we understand who and what to take seriously when people reply to threads here. The reason you will most likely never see something this beneficial happen on the hub is because some of the community do not see a problem with shooting their mouths off and hurling abuse in a destructive way that essentially shuts down any useful communication that could come from this type of interaction.

I think its good value. It includes breakfast and lunch, on both days. The food was lekka last year. And the routes are just amazing, worth every penny. I absolutely love that race.

Looking forward to doing my first one.

Lot more effort has to go into a mtb race route as often they are creating new tracks etc.  I don't mind payment more for a mtb race.  R330 to do a road race with no road closures is not worth it for me.

Will PPA index be used to seed?

Yes

Nope.

National Seeding Index. Your PPA index will however be taken into consideration.

With my current F seeding from PPA I had a C A bunch start last year.

So keep an eye out for that all important SMS or e-mail in the week before the race.

National Seeding Index? I'm sure your seeding is based on your PPA index - your F seeding would give you an A bunch start because the Burger groups are smaller than the PPA groups

If I have to take a guess; I think they use all Racetec timed races and maybe some other races for seeding.

I can assure you in the past they did not use PPA seeding. You only needed one good race to get a good Burger seeding.

for R300 i can join a club who have FREE organised club rides every saturday and sunday and i don't have to get up at an ungodly hour and drive for an hour to the ride.

And the profit goes towards trail building and maintenance of the Stellenbosch trail network. So much of win all round.
