Practically homegrown???? Yeah we cultivated and nurtured his academic and cycling skills till 2008. When he went to cycle in Britain he change his nationality to that of his parents.

South Africa was just a boarding station for him. He deserted SA. So no need to support him.

Just my two cents.

Froome has gone on record, more than once, that his samples may be kept and tested in years to come when new tests are developed for new drugs we are currently either unaware of or unable to test for. He spoke of his win in 2013 as standing the test of time.

I am a great admirer but never been a true fan but he is pure talent and he is practically home grown. I am impressed.

I recall Armstrong stating something similar

Go, Chris. I supported LA back in the day... The climb after falling, going through the field, ah those were the days. Lying chop!

Go Chris... Please don't be being a chop.

If he should cheat he will eventually be caught and found out.....

.... Doping has never really advantaged any rider

That depend on how positive you feel about the peleton. My view is that lots of dopers never got bust. Indurain, Riis (he confessed), Pantani, all the Giro winners from the 2000s for example.

Hey if I'm not mistaken you're thehub's biggest LA fan.

Defending him thread after thread for years, but when we defend Berto we're the devil.

Nope his biggest fan was aptly LA Fan, no longer active though.

Makes you wonder really as to why if there is so much money at stake in prize money as well as sponsorship money, why the heck don't they let alllllll the riders pee pee in die koppie after each stage???

Unless they want specific rider/s to win and manipulate the cycling scene and market. Is everything a money making scam??? Conning the ordinary Joe out there?

Makes you wonder then.

I'm interested to see what happens tomorrow.

If it's a lot closer, then it'll raise my suspicions of doping, because it will feel like the team has heard everyone commenting on Froome's suspicious amazing ride away from the other GC contenders, and told him to back off a bit / they won't have time to take some of the good "recovery" medicine as all the anti-doping officials will be around constantly today

Thomas is a multiple olympic gold medal winner, multiple world champion in track pursuit (his first when he was just 21). Huge talent, incredible engine. Gave up track 3 years ago to focus on road and since then we've watched a progressive, predictable improvement in his performance to where we saw him emerge as one of the best classics riders in the world now. Incredibly tough. Rode the whole of the 2013 TDF with a fractured pelvis. Has dropped over 5 kg and at 29 just emerging into the prime of his road career.Richie Porte has struggled all season? He's won every single stage race he's entered this year (Paris–Nice, Volta a Catalunya, Giro del Trentino), bar 2. And that was the Tour Down Under where he came second, and the Giro where he had to pull out due to injury. Today's performance is entirely in line with his performances this year. Also in the peak of his powers at 30, he's riding exactly as he should be.

Post of the day!!????

He had the same spot light from two years ago, dont you think Uncle Dave would have whispered in his ear, let that little midget get a little closer to you so we dont have to answer so many questions tonight.

He should just do what Pinot does, get off his bike half way through the stage and refuse to continue until the team car brings him his own one to ride again :P
