Did the Berge en Dale for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to it next year.

Krugersdorp hill was nowhere near as bad as people made out it would be, but that was only the first of many hills! :-)

Nice seeding event for the Argus . . . .

Krugersdorp hill isnt bad. Biggest issue is the speed at the beginning of the race. That makes that hill pretty tough if trying to stay in the bunch.

Seriously considering it, but is it not the same day as the Value Logistics Fast One in Meyerton?

Nope.  Fast One is on the 25th of Jan.

This is an awesome race which goes through the cradle.

Lots of climbing and a hard route, but definitely one of the better races on the calendar! Will definitely be back there next year

Hey! How does this compare to Bestmed Satellite in terms of climbs?

Satellite definitely had the harder climb, but overall the BnD has harder "climbing" I think.

It's more of these rollers that get attacked through the cradle, and the run down Bayers is NOT flat but is fast. There is no real single tough climb, but when you are done you will know that you just raced :)

Edit: if you are planning on racing it, warm up! The first hill can be a decider.

I find riding hill snacks gently works pretty well.

P.S. does anyone know where the name "hill snacks" comes from?

Entered, one of my fav races

This year I started in A, managed to keep with the front 8 guys, but when we went down sterkies my spoke went, had to stop to adjust my magnet to hitting the cadence sensor, then the next group came past, climbed one.

When we turned on the highway I was ready to break away, and my second spoke on the back wheel went, had to cruise home the last bit,

Happy with my time of 2:55, but I know I could have had a better result :(

Better luck next time. Mechanical's and punctures SUCK. Wish they only happened in training.

The Berge en Dale is tougher for sure but one of my favourate races of the season.

Think this will be my first race of new year and hopefully start of a few. Only did one racetec race in 2014.

I am not a good climber but for some reason I like to challenge myself to all the hilly races.
