Here you go.

Wolftooth 34T direct mount X0 on front, Wolftooth 40T on XT Cassette. XT Shadow clutch rear drl.

You could add at least one more link to that chain. Nice looking setup.....

HI guys

I am not sure if this has been asked on here but could not really find the answers.

Do I need the spacer kit between the chain ring and crank to convert my Anthem to 1x10 on a slx 2x10 crank?

Do I also need to change to a clutch derailleur if I have a normal XT one?

Regards

Stephan

On my Santa Cruz I had to use the spacer washers. If you use the spacers you may also need longer chainring bolts. Those from a 3x10 system should work as they would normally be longer to clamp the big and middle blades of a 3x10.

It will depend on your bike. Depending what BB your Anthem has, you may also have a spacer ring there that could be removed to bring your whole crank in. Fit the NW front ring first and check your chain line....it should line up on or about the 3rd or 4th largest rear cog to to work smoothly with an extended cassette.

Great stuff thanx. Will line up and check? Do you perhaps know if the rear der must have a clutch?

It definitely helps with chain drop from what everyone else has said.

I have the same bike with the same group and also thinking about converting so going to keep an eye on your progress!

Rode the Karkloof 40km today with my clutch off by mistake. No chain drops but it was a bit noisier on the rocky bits. Gear changes were a bit easier too, I overshifted a few times cos I'm more used to the clutch. Using Kalbo 34t NW and 42t extender on XT

I had the same setup as you, and found that spacing the chainring in by 4mm (2x2mm washers) made things run very nicely.

My Anthem is almost ready for its photo session!

One question. How would I know if my chain line is incorrect. Feels like its running cross chain if on the biggest cog gear at the back?

I have a slx 2x10 crank with pressfit shimano bb on an Anthem frame.
