Now that he doesnt sell it anymore, all of a sudden its the devils brand.

Um, where did you get that from? his comments have been completely neutral and sensible. You seem to have some agenda against him. Pretty stupid as he's one of the most helpful guys in this industry.

You are way off the rails here, actually all you are doing is showing that you incapable of debating and you have lost an argument.

You need to read posts a bit more carefully without a cloud of anger and red mist hanging over your eyes.

My long winded post from earlier even makes it very clear that they make exceptional products, but no you did not see that did you ?

No sire, too easy to ignore facts and carrying on like a sorry little brand whore simply because that is who you spent your wealth with.

Bridge Cycles no more a stockist as well...all the mom and pop stores that built their brand and now discarded to make way for the concept stores...not cool..

What. No ways. They always had great deals on Spez bikes. Always waited till the new models arrived, and then I would buy last years model for 20 percent off.

I refuse to support concept stores. Never. What stores remain? Bmt and Paarl. Olympic gone, cyclefunatic gone and Bridge cycles.

Absolutely.  I know of a local distributor that sells built-up "niche brand" bikes for R75k.  I did the math and I could build the exact same bike for R50k and that was without the prices they get for parts obviously, so I suspect they probably build the bike for R35k-R40k and then flog it for R75k.

Good for them.  I think that's unreasonable so I won't support them.  Same reason I won't buy an S-Works Enduro for R100k.  It's too much money for what you get.  So is a Santa Cruz Nomad build for R110k.

But I'm very keen to pay R25k for a Camber Expert Evo frameset and rebuild my current bike onto that.  That to me feels like value and I can live with them making a solid profit on it.

That frame at that kind of money is a bit of a win .

Would that not be a down grade on your Stumpy?

I remember that Stumpy of yours being a nice bike.

I have no loyalty to Spez, I ride what I like. I dont get angry Sir. Not over petty things like this. I read your posts. Acknowledged that you have very valid points. And agreed with most of them.

Calling me a sorry little brand whore and being sarcastic about me being wealthy. Which I am not,  indicates that you want to get personal with me. Not lus for that on a Monday. Or ever actually.

And we all know you dilike Spez. Noddy badge for you aswell

This is so funny.

Where do I dislike Specialized ?

Please show me, I would love to see this for myself.

It's a real pity that the likes of you ride their brand, you seem to look down on anyone who does not ride a Specialized, could possibly be one of the reasons why there are haters .

Well I'd be going from Alu to Carbon, getting a slacker head angle and waaaay better shock. Also internal dropper post and going from X-fusion to Pike.

I want to sell my Stumpy frame, fork, headset and dropper as a unit and then save up for the difference.

BUT(!!!) I love my Stumpy and I'm not going to bend over backwards to upgrade. Nothing wrong with my bike and I have turned it into a rather special bike over the last two years.

So basically a bit of upgrade-itis at play here.

Also, walking past that black Pyga Pascoe in the window at Revolution's old spot isn't helping matters either...

I may have to slip out the office for a quick cycle :P

Brand bashing aside (It is a fun past time), it is very scary how expensive cycling has become over the past few years.

It is really at a point now where a decent bike is out of the reach of the average working class person, unless they have saved for a long time, been in the game for a while and have been buying / selling and upgrading in time or the current trend, buying the bike on credit.

Is it really that more expensive or have our perception of what a "decent" bike is not also increased a lot the past few years?

How many of us are doddering along on far more expensive bikes than we really need? My perception is that average peeps are spendin far more on high-end stuff than a few years back.

You miss the  point, it's not about the bike, it about the brain that drives the engine that make whatever bike you own going forward.....

I think you can put Suzi on a brick with wheels and he will still be winning.

Normally  the guys and girls on the bricks don't care about the Engines driving the Ferrari's and Lamborghini's, they would most probably dream about owning one at the most, but it's the some of the owners of the Ferrari's and the Lambo's that cares what the others think.....

I'm happy with my brick, my engine seems to work the brick quit well......

I'm afraid Johnny Bravo has beaten the Sheriff, comprehensively.
