This and the other Spez thread just shows, we care more about what other people do instead of just shutting up, pedaling our bikes and enjoying beautiful riding we have.

 

Who gives a crap about what some else wears or rides.

 

If you don't like them, ignore them and keep pedaling.

ps: Think Im going to wear my W2W top, S2C pants and Jock socks at the 94.7 after this thread. Will also transfer all residual race number stickers to road bike, just in case its not clear enough.

let me be clear I will be riding W2W next year and have done a few stage rides and races BUT same as the Spez bandwagon topic can I just ask

 

The tops and kit given for the race is nice I get it, but lately at Tokai and surrounds every Tom , D...k and Harry has his FNB W2W lycra on day and night almost as bad as the Spez top to toe guys

 

I get it you did the Race,Ride,Adventure but boys and girls the event is over

 

Let me also say I do ride a Spez (Camber) baggies and all

Just take any event and have a look at how many people were either kit from a specific event or corporate kit.

 

It seems that it's "unfashionable" to wear a kit that isn't tied to some event or corporate.

Look its all about streetcred...And there is a definite hierarchy

 

You get your babbas lodge t-shirt at the bottom

Then your nissan series socks

Then your mtn series socks

Then your completed all 5 nissan's waterbottle

Then your three towers bandana

Then your Sani2C gillet

Then your Joberg2C waterbottle / top combo

Then your CPT top

Then your epic t-shirt

Then your amabupensi top(if your earned it though)

Then your Freedom challenge blanket

 

So know this, when you see someone at registration covered what looks like a hobo's blanket...hy gaan die *** uit jou uit ry

Wear the kit if you have actually done the race! What grinds me is the people who wears Cape Epic kit cause they got on sale at some shop, but doesn't even know what the Epic is....

I agree fully. I saw a guy riding with our club the other day wearing epic finishers kit. I asked how his epic went and he replied that he didn't do it he just bought the kit on sale after the race. WTF??? seriously if you do such a crime then just wear it while you on the IDT at home but NEVER go pose in public if you haven't put in the time. IMHO

Over racing for the moment oom, I have discovered there is more to riding than just praaping for a couple of hour on a bike without taking in the scenery / smells / sounds(read I am kaksleg / fat / unfit / slow)

I like my W2W shirt .The hoodie jacket fits like I was born with it .If they had bags left I would have bought one [Very good quality].The 3 days of riding was sublime .Worth every sent
