You are lucky, you can keep them out of sight in the "shed" with the other toys, :-)

???

What's the time-frame that the camera was not recording?

Are there similar gaps at other times in that evening?

Your last 'before' shot is time-stamped 19:55 and the first, 20:43... When did recording stop and then start again??

Any chance of footage from ANYWHERE else in the area in that time??

I'm sure you've gone through this but, indulge me... looks helluva suspicious.

THE RESPONSE

To whom it may concern,

Our client, “        ” owns a managed high resolution IP surveillance system. We can confirm that these system settings are managed and maintained by us alone. We investigated the bicycle theft incident of 19th November 2014 and found no relevant video footage of the incident due to the following:

Outside cameras was added to the system later, and never set to deviate from the indoor camera recording schedule. This schedule was set to be permanently record during business hours and motion detection after hours only, a very standard setting for systems aimed at combatting shrinkage and staff control. All motion detection parameters have been configured to monitor flow of stock and staff FROM the building, not from the street or even over the fence.

There are no traces of system alteration, or tampering of any kind.

Kind Regards,

Your last 'before' shot is time-stamped 19:55 and the first, 20:43... When did recording stop and then start again??  IT STARTED AGAIN DUE TO US MOVING ABOUT (CLOSER TO THE MOTION SENSORS)

Any chance of footage from ANYWHERE else in the area in that time??

BASICALLY THE SETTINGS ARE SET UP IN THIS MANNER TO SAVE RECORDING SPACE, AND AS THE GUY SAYS ITS SET UP TO MONITOR STOCK LEAVING FROM THE DOOR TO A CAR, APPARENTLY IT STARTED BECAUSE OF US 3 GORILLAS WALKING AROUND ACTIVATING THE RECORDING AFTER HOURS VIA MOTION DETECTION(WHEN WE WALKED OUT THE DOOR)

That is very swak

I think a "because of the incidents on the night of the 19th of November, you are required to remove all surveillance systems from this premises and also my premises as we have decided to go with a more adequate supplier" letter should be sent

LIKE I SAID THESE GUYS DO MY SYSTEM, I THINK WHEN THE PARAMETERS OF RECORDING WAS SET UP CLEARLY THEY DID NOT ANTICPATE THIS TYPE OF SITUATION

these new cameras are limitless to what you can set up, he even has a system set up for number plate reconigtion and it stores it, so every vehicle that enters he gets snap shots and it gets saved completly seperate from other recordings

i agree it sucks but i know the guy, and we also got some of our cameras set on time slots to store recording space , we have just configured them better,,,,,walk in ////near the building is 24 hours

internally ony on motion after hours 40 cameras recording at high resolution uses seriaaaas space
