Have you checked your unotelly account has credit? They normally give 30 days so you need to renew.

Netflix no longer works on unotelly.

  It seems it expired last week exactly when my apps stopped working. I have extended it so will test tonight.

And for your viewing pleasure: a whole month of "Blackout" featuring the best of "african amreican" actors! Yay!!

I wonder when the "Whitewash" month will be,or will it be un-PC (read racist) to feature only white actors?

Forunately it is only on a pop-up channel...

Super bleak... Went and spent a couple of randelas on a new per supply only to find the roku if fried too. Little concerned as to what caused it.. But anyway...

Any suggestions for a new device to replace it? Was thinking of an android box but the one I've seen has a really shitty interface... maybe a raspberry pi?.. Kind of after a device with a remote or one i can pair with a remote.. Or even better my roku remote!... Not that keen on a roku again.. My trust has been broken

Do you need to register for Putlocker?

Starts playing then comes up with registration info.

Want to mirror on Apple Tv.

Any advice for sport with an AppleTV / iPad /iPhone setup, most sites just open up new tabs in browser with ads & casino crap.

I bought one of these..

http://www.takealot.com/cloudgate-circle-android-media-player/PLID41404837

It does the job although Web  browsing is slow. I have loaded Kodi onto it and it works fine although I haven't explored it properly. I have no experience of other devices so I can't compare. I like to run external hard rives with my GoPro videos on it and it's great for that. And of course with Takelot you get some sort of peace of mind.

I spoke with the manufacturer and they have updated the ROM and said most of the returns they had were because people didn't know what the device was for. Part of the blame for that must lie with Cloudgate because they described it as a Media Player and also a desktop. I think that confused folk.

Also available in Windows.

It is marketed as a computer though - but yes - can be used as a media player easily. The one thing that is putting me off android box is the lack of user interface that can easily be nagivated with a remote. In this instance I may as well use my phone which is about to be upgraded and dedicate it being a media player.

done a bit of research and I have a friend coming from the uk in July - and I might just get a roku streaming stick sent to her and give the roku guys another chance (my last one was a full roku 3 device - which I didnt really need the full capabilities of)....but that is why I am interested to learn of other devices with good remote support

I am very happy with my MXQ Pro Android Box running Kodi now that it is setup like I want it. I paired it with a Rii Mini i8+ as the original remote that it comes with just doesn't have enough buttons to fully utilize the Kodi functions available.

Give me a call and we can chat if you like.

If it's available on the Play Store then yes. Not sure on installing other software but pretty sure that if it is an app designed for Android it can be installed from an "untrusted source"

I created a gmail account specifically for the TV box so that there isn't any cross contamination between my phone apps and the box apps

and you own local media server - how do you access that? through kodi?

My Media Library is all on an external HDD that is still connected to my WDTV Live (My youngest son is in Grade one and isn't able to read everything yet but has mastered the WD Menu navigation to get what he needs so it will stay connected for a while until he figures out the Kodi Menus which I assume won't take him too long)

I access my media via Kodi. I have Serviio installed but haven't used it for ages. It comes up when you do a search with Kodi but I chose not to use it as that means that my PC needs to be on to access the media.

Ideally I want the HDD plugged directly into the MXQ Box

Just in case you are leaning that way, The MXQ remote started giving shyte not long after I installed it. Wouldn't work. Was an intermittent fault and had to keep on resetting the box. After connecting the i8+ it has been a pleasure. We don't even switch the box off anymore.

Order the i8+ (the "+" denotes that the unit has a backlight. Handy for visionally challenged folks like me that battle to see in the dark. The normal i8 isn't backlit) and the box together if you go that route. You'll end up with a keyboard eventually if you use Kodi and a full sized unit is a PITA. I know, I tried it.....

Edit: meant to add that both are available from Banggood as well as from DX. I ordered my i8 from DX. Took 5 weeks to arrive. Couldn't find it locally at the time.

Yes, it had no interface so I bought one of these..

Ironically my brother has a Smart TV and had the remote device to interface with it but found it to be cumbersome - especially typing - so he also bought the Logitec keyboard.

if you have the PC box running kodi in another room, and struggling to get the kore app to work, what other options are there to control kodi ?

And is there a showmax plugin yet ?
