What is all the fuss about.........it was done on a downhill (maybe with a tail wind?).

Speed is speed........even when going downhill.

But since we are bragging about our achievements and glory, have a look at this:

0-100km/h in 2.83sec....................try beating that CB.

PS: The guy in the Landy with the spare wheel at the back.......now that is clever. All he will hear is a muffled thump when a cyclist hits him form behind.......no dents, no scratches......nothing in the rear view mirror......just keeps on driving.

If a person hits a stationary object at 91km/h, assume the SUPERMAN position, and comes to a complete rest 3 seconds later.........chances are good that you will be approximately 75m from your bicycle..........neglecting and not considering the surface friction and resistance of the tar road on human flesh. All fun and games..........

Controversial, yes because it's illegal. Cool, yes, was probably good fun and we've all overstepped the law before so I'm not going to mother grundy the guy. Posting it online? A bit daft.

The Jozi Hustle shellacking clearly got on your nerves - stop trying to justify your indefensible position on one thread by trying to create grey areas on another thread.

Grow up, and take your punishment.  You guys think its cool to ride in a way that stuffs it up for everyone - fine.  Thats your decision, live in the cycling leper colony of the loathed and hated.  Don'y cry now because everyone thinks you're a d.0.0.s - its an easy fix - just stop being one (or riding like one, at least)

Give it a break.I am so sick and tired of the whole ostricisation thing.....

Out of interest sake. How long does it take to come to a complete halt from 90kph on a road bike? And what distance will you travel in the process?

I know it depends on the rider's skill and equipment, but let's accept it is a skilled rider with high-end equipment.

It's all down to physics. If you recall from school the formula v = u + at, where v is final velocity in m/s, u is initial velocity in m/s, a is acceleration in m/s^2 (or in this case, deceleration), and time t is second. We can easily calculation initial velocity (90/3.6 = 25m/s), but finding his deceleration is very tricky in this case. The rider's (and bike's) linear momentum, the friction coefficient between the tyres and the road, and the friction coefficient between the brake pads and wheel rim (which is dependant on the rider's applied force) will have the final say in the linear deceleration of the total mass.

Im always someone that would like to take cyclists side when its the battle between cars and bicycles... but i must say if i was a car and i see an oke reckless like that i will also dislike cyclists.

The video is very cool indeed and i like the display info at the bottom but this wont help our cause on the road! My hands were sweating watching this and that guy cuts inbetween the traffic especially past a taxi is suicide im my opinion... please be safe and lets not throw away our "little respect" we have on the road.

I know that area of Beyers very well and that's insane as far as I'm concerned. Carry on riding like that and you're f**cked....just a matter of time.

Until he gets knocked over and seriously injured or killed, but possibly with out his go pro on . Then we all want to send the lynch mob to the drivers house.

Stupidity personified .

Im OK with high speeds on a bike, but squeezing in between traffic is asking for C@C. Also not right to put the motorist in a position where they are a greater risk to you.

Maybe you should reserve you stunts for late nights or early mornings when the roads are quiet. Safer for everybody.

The point is that the majority of you hubbers commenting on this are self-righteous hypocrites. I specifically posted a video of me exceeding the speed limit on a bicycle to generate controversy, because every one of you immediately says it is illegal, but I am certain that every one of you will get into your car today, tomorrow or whenever and commit the exact same offence.

So will the hubber that does not habitually exceeded the speed limit in a 60 zone in their motor vehicle please stand up and make yourself known.

Will the hubber that does not habitually use a cell phone while driving please stand up and make yourself known.

If it is not acceptable to you that others disregard the laws of the road then what makes it acceptable for you to do it? Let me remind you that it is also illegal for YOU to commit these offenses, but is it because everyone does it on a daily basis that it becomes normal behaviour and you are just a sheep follow the other the sheep?

Even on the bike, every one of you, I am certain, habitually breaks the law by riding two abreast on a single carriage way! Of course, you want to chat to your mate. This is a very dangerous activity as that 1.5 meter gap gets narrowed down considerably, possibly forcing cars to go around into the oncoming lane or passing within inches of your handle bars. Contemplate that a bit when you out riding and tell me you are not taking a risk yourself.

So, before passing judgement on me, please look into the mirror and say to yourself “I am an ass hole for speeding, I am an asshole for using my phone while driving”

Now here is a suggestion, when you wake up in the morning and look at yourself in the mirror why don’t you say to yourself “I will make the effort not to speed to day. I will not drive while using my phone today, as I know that both of these activities are illegal and put other people’s lives at risk”

When you have become a model citizen you will have earned the right and the respect to pass comment on all the other assholes breaking the law, myself included.
