Condolences to the family and loved ones.

This is terribly sad.

I cycle to the office and back every day, but now I’m starting to wonder if I should rather not. After these last few weeks it seems to becomes a matter when, not if. And these incidents are the fatal ones. How many accidents do we not hear of - where the cyclist maybe only got injured (or maimed), not killed?

RIP my fellow cyclist

Tragic and very worrying.

R.I.P Rider and condolences to those who are left behind.

I commute daily from the 'Burbs to the CBD and had a near fatal incident with a one ton truck yesterday.

The vehicle was conspicously branded, so I took pic at the traffic light and contacted the business via email.

The operations manager and the owner contacted me directly within minutes, offered an unconditional apology and a promise that their drivers will be formally disciplined and educated on how to interact with a vulnerable road user.

Kudo's to Mark and Mischa from Dampmen for their very positve and professional response.

I'd like to encourage every Hubber to do the same in order to raise the awareness of commuting cyclist in the minds of employed vehicle operators.

As long as people see "cycilists", "motorists", "bikers" instead of flesh and bone people this will continue - it's only when we see fathers/sons/brothers (and the female equivalent of course) that riders/bikers will ride properly and motorists will drive properly.

Oh the irony of the word "humanity".
