Good evening Hubbers.

Any of you living in Northern Jhb that can help me with removing a stripped Allen head bolt from a seat clamp. I'd be happy to supply you with six of the best poison of your choice(beer only) for your help.

Many thanks in advance

If it's not too bad try getting the allen key in with a bit of steel wool. Press real hard and try turn it out... If that doesn't work try a piece of inner tube and give it a bash.

It's bad enough that when you put full pressure it slips. I will try both your suggestions after dinner. Thanks you for your speedy reply.

If all else fails, you may have to drill the head off, but this may render the clamp unusable. Whereabouts in Jhb?

Fairlands, but I don't mind a trek. I'm going to try 'the Bears' suggestion.

Try using a torx key in place of the alan key - or bring it to me and we can have a go at it together - close to rosebank - drop me a pm if I can help

The other thing you can try before destructive methods is to wedge a small flat screwdriver in next to the alan key - tap it tight with a hammer - may mean sacrificing the alan key and screwdriver.

also you can try glueing the alan key in with quickset epoxy.

if those dont work - left handed drill...should turn it out or make a hole for an easy out
