Rash on inner thighs

Recommended Posts

I bought a new (expensive) bib just before the Argus. It's been just over a week now and I've developed quite a nasty rash on my inner thighs, especially the one side. At this stage the skin is really red and raw.

Any (quick) remedies or advice on how to treat this?

It's been a month since the Argus and you have the rash now only....have you washed the "expensive" bib since you bought it ?...or were you so chuffed with it you just kept riding. ..????????????

On that point; did you wash it before you rode in it the first time? Did you recently shave your legs before any of the rides?

Do you legs rub together when you walk? Any seams that could have irritated the skin?

Are you allergic to Latex? Some Lycra products can contain latex.

It may not be the bib at all....

I use aloe gel to soothe things like like but I would let it heal up before putting it in a position where it may get chafed again.

Bactroban only works if the rash is bacterial. If it is a "swam" (whatever the english word for that may be... sorry) bactroban does bugger-all. Speak to a pharmasist or doc to get a proper diagnosis as to the actual cause and treat it correctly.

The English work you are looking for is "Fungus"

And unless there are photos, no doc in the world can help except by guessing.... or a face to face visit is requried.

And whatever treatment works for you - give it to all your garments that come into contact with that area - personally I would start with a twice a day surgical spirits spray - if it does not look better within 2 days, go see your GP.
