I got a pair of Fox Rangers (I am a big guy) don't use their inners, I use them with bibs and the inside white lining of the shorts is starting to show where my sitbones are. So if i bend over there is two white eyes looking back at you.

And I actually didn't use them that often. I guess they just not made for heavier people.

I checked now and the one side is actually a hole where i can put my finger through. Piad like R800 for it at Fox in canalwalk, wont buy them again.

I have a few awesomely offensive pairs of baggies that I picked up from Mr.Price  Also, you can get 6 pairs of them for the price of one pair of Fox...

My 2008 pair of Fox baggies and 2009 TLD baggies are still going strong though...

I was looking for new baggies for a while, but thanks to my statuesque 5'4" frame most  baggies look like 3/4 bermuda shorts on meand that's too comfy when riding.

Tried on the Spez ones, they look awesome, on the hanger, and feel great on me.. but almost tickle my ankles.

After a fair  bit of research I found out about the  Fox Livewire, it's a slimmer, shorter cut...

they'tr not cheap, R1099, but I think they're worth it! FAH-lippen awesome!!

That price includes the SWAT bib shorts too, very handy piece of clothing that.

You wont believe how handy. No more lost bottles or anything for that matter. Best piece of kit I have ever bought.

On a budget, Fox Rangers are unbeatable.

Dakine Chorus on Special here for R540.00

Don't think you gonna find better value than that

Those are great shorts and well made for a good price. I'd also look at Endura Humvees of you can find them locally.

Best shorts I've ever had, still have and have stock piled are http://www.intrepidapparel.co.uk/mission-shorts-greenand on the black. Stretchy, attention to detail is second to none, tons of trick little touches and tough. Also on special for £40 at the moment if you can find someone who will buy a 'gift' or coming to visit from the UK they are awesome.

Got some Dakine ones at the old Revolution store a while ago, not sure if they still stock them, being a Specialized store and all, maybe at their other store though. They're not cheap, but they're awesome in my books. Nicely adjustable, with plenty pockets and vents for summer. CWC also had a lot of Endura when I was in there the other day.

Check out www.shreddtech.co.za

They do Royal Racing and currently running some specials with the outgoing 2014 range.

Most of their trail riding shorts come with a removable liner.

Limited sizes available though.

I agree with you 100% been looking at the matrix shorts for little over a year now, still have not purchased Cz there is always a component on the bike that needs attention. So that's priority for me.

But the royal racing stuff is top quality and I hope one day I will get a royal shorts which is very well priced for the quality.

I have a royal jersey which has taken quite a number of dives and still going strong, light and breathable as well.

I was in a similar boat.

I use assos bibs so i only wanted an outer layer.

The fox are good. But if you just want an outer go to outdoor warehouse and buy a camping type short.

They dry in minutes. Are cheap. Breath nicely and look the part.
