I'm also with Jakkels on this.. just get the right advise before you buy.

I have looked at both the bikes mentioned, they are very much entry level in the componentry and even down to the gear ratio, 28 on the back (that is big) and 50/34 on the front. You could climb Everest with that ratio :-) if I had to choose though, I would take the Trek

I have a full dura Ace trek 10spd carbon madone that I would be willing to sell you for 11k? Pm me and we can chat, (54cm). The specs you are mentioning are kinda pathetic for 8k

Momsen no longer make road bikes and when they did, it was only for a short space of time. It is not a bike you see very often for this reason. You might battle with warranty claims as they might not have spare frames. Then again TWT is the new agent for Cervelo, so if your Momsen frame breaks, they may give you a state of the art Cervelo (tongue in cheek).

The Momsen in the picture was never equipped with Sora 8 speed. It had Tiagra 10 speed. This means that the shop took the parts off and put other parts on. Not that this is bad thing (it often happens), just wanted to mention it.

Personally, Trek has a better pedigree with regard to road bikes. The bike has better parts than the Momsen and looks better (in my opinion). I would rather take the Trek.

But, they are much of a muchness. The extra gear on the Trek will help, but won't be a deal breaker.

You can do a sub 4 argus on it.

You can do a sub 3 Argus on a Makro bike.

You can do a plus 6 hour Argus on a Pina F8.

It's the legs that count, the bike means bugger all
