Suppliers might be out of stock or your lbs hasn't paid their bills and can't get the parts till they do.

 

Rock shox is the best supported the suspension in sa. Supplier carries tons of stock of replacement parts.

 

Sometimes though stock levels do run low and shipments get delayed

Soooo, phoned Cape Cycle Systems... and... they DO have the item in stock...! Now for the friendly conversation with the LBS... 

 

Please let us know what the LBS says.. curios..

My China crystal ball says that they have caller id and don't want to answer his call because they read this thread...

 

 

 

 

Disclaimer: My crystal ball maybe acrylic or worse, casting resin and not terribly accurate unless point exactly ENE after sunset with a Full moon rising

Hi - got hold of LBS on the blower, they apologised and will order the part for me today... better late than never...  :mellow:

Funny when the people don't want to name the shop when they received bad service

 

Name them and let them know they are ****, then they have a choice, work at their customer service or stay **** and lose business

Had similiar problem with my lbs a couple of months ago...sent my bike in for a small service as i had a new bike and wanted to just gwt bike ready to store. Only to get told that my hanger broke (cannondale) because it was bent ( this after just replacing the derailier a couple of weeks before). It took them 3 months to find me a new hanger, kept on telling me that there is none in south africa.

Just don't understand why they needed to lie to you.

Perhaps because, like it has been mentioned, they have not paid their account so the sales person who tried to do his job phoned Cape Cycles to order it, got told the account was on hold, left it at that, told the owner/accountant about the situation. Owner takes a while/couldn't be bothered to pay - all the while the order gets lost/forgotten about...makes up the story of no stock to buy time

 

OR

 

The sales person thinks that ordering a part that costs so little is not worth his time so doesn't bother...makes up the story of no stock to buy time

 

OR

 

Orders the part, gets told that the shipping will be more than he part, so holds off till he has something more to order and forgets about it...makes up the story of no stock to buy time

 

so you see there are a couple of variables...

Sounds shoddy, broke the hanger on my GT (2009 Avalanche) last Wednesday afternoon, spoke to LBS on Thursday morning, by Friday afternoon it had been delivered. I was expecting a week or so...
