You can always get an entry for comrades. Many many pull out and sell their ticket later

That’s true. I prefer having the proverbial bird in the hand and rather enter as soon as entries open.

Hey guys. Have any of you got any tips for running in extreme heat. I did google it but some personal experiances/advice would be nice. Thanks

I like to schedule my summer slow runs around lunch time and take advantage of the heat training benefit. It's good mental and physiological training so keep reminding yourself that the suffering is going to pay off on race day. I normally carry a buff tucked into my cap at the back to protect my neck and then stop at the spring at Alberts a few times to soak my cap and buff and fill up my water bottles. I'd say at least half my drinking water ends up on my head, though.

I'm to scared to sync my runs to Strava. These Last 2 Months have been a real struggle. Lost a lot of form. And when I saw the entry date for the Comrades today, fomo big time. Will skip it next year. Will use the time to figure out how to adapt my training around 12h working days.

I myself haven’t been able to run since Comrades. Struggled with an injury since before Comrades and then made the (stupid) decision to run through it on Comrades day. Since then the injury’s been diagnosed as adductor tendinitis, sports hernia, osteitis pubis and the latest pubic rotation. Somehow though I still can’t wait for the entries to open.

Sorry, Lexx. Did you incur an injury? Don't let the Strava pressure get to you, it's all supportive, not competitive. Well, mostly.

Don't know what happened this year, maybe its my age lol . But since Comrades I battled to stay healthy. Had a bad case of Strep 2 weeks ago, and then its the flu etc. Luckily summer is here, so hopefully it will be better.

Ah, the dreaded lurgy! What's with these diseases taking longer and longer to shake each year? Anyway, you're too good a runner to stay down for long so no doubt you'll be back to those incredible times you were setting before Comrades once you can get back to your training.

With Berlin Marathon happening on Sunday does anyone think the official Marathon world record be broken? Current record of 2:02:57 set at Berlin in 2014 by Dennis Kimetto

Another must do for the KZN peeps...Lynford Country Weekend...day 1 is a run down the day 2 of Sani2Sea...either 20km or 30km.  Then day 2 is 15km around the Lynford School area.  Entry was R950 and that included Fri supper, Sat x3 meals and Sunday x 2 meals, camping and race garment.

We had hectic icy cold rainy weather on Sat, bit of a mud slide down the valley but even that didnt put a damper on a fantastic weekend!!

Looking to replace my Hoka One One Clifton`s.

The toe box is a bit tight for my liking and have a niggle/twinge behind my second last toe.

What do you guys think about the Altra Duo?

Other suggestions?

What socks are being worn? I only use Falke...looking for reasons for the toe.

Being in Upington, I will have to pull the trigger on an online purchase and hope for the best.

What shoes did you choose?
