I'm glad I wasn;t the only one wondering this...

I was wondering the same thing as too narrow shoes give me blisters and black toenails. But I think if one has narrow feet, a shoe that is too wide in the heel and midfoot may allow the foot to slip forward with the toes then hitting the front of the shoes on each stride which could cause black toenails?

@Barry.... Speak to me dude.... What's happening? Are you injured?

Ah man, that sucks

Thanks, man. There are probably worse times in training to be man-down so I'm not too stressed at this stage, it was just typically daft of me. For some reason I always decide to do some DIY about two weeks out from Comrades. I'm not too stressed, the back should be fine by next week and the sniffles should be gone by this weekend so I'll just put in a few jogs and then take the day as it comes and enjoy whatever it offers. It's Comrades so it's guaranteed to be a wonderful day out regardless.

What is everyone's thoughts on the Rainbow 21km in Kempton Park around September?

I am testing my back this weekend and get the green light from Doc to start running again if all good. Seems like the perfect time for an entry and get into a training program.

Same here, the training of this last month was non existent betwee illness and injuries and as soon as I am recovering from illness the cold front struck us, so there goes my two night runs of this week as well.  Rather safe than sorry..

That event looks amazing, what a setting.

I'm not sure if I should be angry about Comrades' date.  This looks like an AWESOME weekend!!!

Narrow, better fitting shoes solved my toe issues. I have skinny feet, so in wide shoes they slide forward and bump against the front and sides. In a narrow shoe my feet are much more secured. I run with a 5mm toe gap with no issues at all.
