I realise it is perhaps a unfair question not knowing what the whole training programe looks like, but how good an idea is a 52km race 6 weeks before two oceans?

The long runs being something like this...

28/01/17 - 42

25/02/17 - 52

15/04/17 - 56

04/06/17 - 87

dont get up in the need to do long runs...long runs are important..but not critical

Last year my longs run were:

marathon in Feb

couple of 30s in march

38 and 40 in April

lots of 10 - 15's and 20's are just as good for you

2017 I will do 2 marathons and OMTOM and then 20-30km in between on the weekends. after 2 oceans nothing longer than 30

I orderd myself some Vivobarefoot Stealth road shoes. My ankle is getting better and since trail jogging does not really exist in Kuwait I thought I'd hit the pavement. Looking forward to getting back to running and out of the gym. Ps. If you want to buy gear order from Stuart at Native sport. The service is something else.

Selling my Suunto Ambit Peak Sapphire for R5k - it's 3.5 months old, used for exactly 20 activities and as my day to day watch. Still in very good condition, no issues at all. A few tiny knicks on the bezel (which will happen), but glass is spotless (Sapphire baby!) and everything else 100's...

Putting it on here before the classifieds. Managed to get a pretty sweet deal on the Fenix3 on Black Friday

Shout if any questions!

Yoh, I'm slogging through some runs at the moment! The past week has been hectic at work and my hay fever is flaring up something crazy! Sleep happens but I'm not feeling rested when I get up and it's been an epic mental struggle to get out and run! Feeling heavy, slow and completely out of rhythm and the fogginess of the hay fever is like a cruel mistress that teases you with the desire to just walk instead!

I am so frustrated not running!! At the same time I am dead tired, really struggling to get up in the mornings.

So, you are not alone. Maybe a couple of day's rest will help. We don't always listen to our bodies...

Currently on close to 700kms with my current Nimbus 18, so will be looking for a new pair in early January... especially with the Discovery shoe booster. So might consider sticking with Nimbus although have been considering a change

ja..sadly.my brookes experience has not been great..they feel great..but the rubbing on the side of my foot has not dssipated so I will be going back to asics next year...but...not with the nimbus or cumulus...but with the dynaflyte. Will continue to use the brookes for less than 25km runs and use the asics for longer
