Jackes Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) I take my hat off to you, especially when winter comes. Nooooo, not in -10 Bloem type mornings. We started on the treadmill in the winter, not sure how much fun the return to the treadmill is going to be. Still the same time unfortunately though. However, the season has definately passed, the mornings is chilly here. Edited February 28, 2017 by Jackes Lexx 1
Chris_ Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I sometimes (read most times..) struggle getting up at 4:30 every day. I don't know how you guys sustain anything earlier. More power to you, that's why you're at the front of the pack and I'm at the back! Keep it up!

CobusV Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 That's just Sunday's run, they still doing around 25 on the Saturday to finish up with 160k+ weeks.. Who's the guilty party? Gareth? Rob? I was many years ago a RAC member. Used to hit 1000km mid March just before Two Oceans (never did Comrades). Injury cured me... Was proper gatvol for running by mid April, but really enjoyed the Sunday Club Runs.
Edgar Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 (edited) I have not run since Comrades 2010, and only did my first marathon that year at PicknPay in Feb. Decided to do comrades and enter in Oct. These are my stats so far, and looking to build to 120 in March and 140 in April per week. will probably end between 2200-2500 depending. See you all at Vaal. Hoping to get the b seeding under way after just missing it a JC. Will try for an A at Irene Ultra. The progress summary is from the 01/01/17 to today Edited February 28, 2017 by Edgar ScottCM 1

(Just out of interest sake) Most people train for their B2B and then they are hooked. Lexx 1
Lexx Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 (edited) Who else got a Cortisone injection in the past? The reason I am asking is, I got one yesterday, and last night I couldn't sleep ( insomnia). My heart is racing every couple of minutes and I have the shakes. Edited March 1, 2017 by Lexx

I wish I could run at that pace with such a low HR, well low for me compared to my max.

Edgar Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 Out of curiosity, what % of your max is 139BPM? I wish I could run at that pace with such a low HR, well low for me compared to my max. About 70% Scott. Max approx 197, resting Approx 48. At 70% it is not that low. A 4m/km on a 8km TT sits at 169 bpm 86% Hacc, Couple of reasons: Got bored, got Achilles Tendonitis after not resting (I got on the bike a week later to do some training for Imana Wild Ride) and just didn't stop riding after that. B2B didn't really interest me. Andrew Steer and Lexx 2

B2B didn't really interest me. I understand the boredom part. I have been doing this for four years now, and I must say it is getting to me now. I struggle to stay motivated year in and year out.I don't know how people run 10, 20, 30, 40 Comrades marathons. I miss my bike and not stressing about kilometers for the week, average pace and long runs. With my current nausea problem, a running friend of mine suggested that I should stop running completely. Just thinking about stopping makes me sad. Running has become part of my life. Edited March 1, 2017 by Hacc Edgar 1
