ScottCM Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Gerald, how are the Kicks treating you so far?
Messier87 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 These Last 2 weeks i'm going through a bit of a dip in my training. I am getting the mileage in, but its just that i am gatvol. Tired of running all alone and because here in the slowveld, we only have about 3 -4 routes to train on. So its getting boring running the same route over and over again. I also run alone and on the same routes most of the time. For me mixing up the time of day helps a lot with variety. Even just a late afternoon run vs evening run extending into darker hours is completely different. And our area is still safe even after dark so that is one of my favorites. Lexx 1
Jackes Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Nevermind 2,000km for comrades training from Jan, let's do 3,000... Â Lexx 1
Lexx Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 WTH. Thats some big Mileage. Now i feel guilty for having tired legs Â
Hacc Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I am just a tad behind schedule.... ????I agree with Lexx... Feeling very guilty right now... Then again she is a pro. Â Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk Lexx 1
'Kaze Pete Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 A friend of mine just ran past the 1000km mark for the year. Apparently she is NOT going to do Comrades, nor Munga. On around 1500km cyclist as well...Â

Andrew Steer Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 First time trial in years last night... bolted like a horse out the stable, could of course not keep up my unrealistic pace  (especially with a 1km climb to finish on), but it felt good to just gooi it down for a change. I then of course realised my pushing it pace is similar to some of  the race snakes on here's LSD run pace Lexx, EmJayZA and ScottCM 3

Stretch Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Not doing Comrades, just Ironman in 2 weeks.... so am curious those training for comrades what sort of distances are you guys up to by now, ? My stats for the year to date I am well below where I normally am..by the end of this week 2015 - 763.72016 - 855.32017 - 666.3 so I am pretty much 100km below 2015 and 200 below 2016. Last year I peaked at the end of March/beginning of April..so I am hoping that I will have a much bigger April than I did in 2016 and peak just before the taper Andrew Steer, EmJayZA and shaper 3

Andrew Steer Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 Jeepers, I really need to work on my midweek runs, just looking back I've been super slack... Lost some good training weeks with illness, but also dropped the ball in not training properly the weeks after marathons. Thank goodness for my weekend races, else I'd be in serious pooÂ

Also had the same approach and bombed properly! I'm nowhere near my 5K best, although weirdly I am feeling stronger over the longer distances? Find I'm able to run 15kays holding a faster pace than before but can't come anywhere near my 5K PB of 22min. Once OMTOM half is done, I really want to get some speedwork in and make a full effort at working towards a sub20 5K. My current half PB is an actual 1:55* at GunRun last year. Hoping to get under 1:45 at OMTOM. What are your goals and lets see who gets them? Challenge???    *(For those on my Strava, 2 years ago Gun Run had a major GPS issue and somehow was determined that I ran into the middle of the bay, breaking all my records. I've kept them there as markers to work towards actually achieving!) Lexx, EmJayZA and Andrew Steer 3

EmJayZA Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 What are your goals and lets see who gets them? Challenge???    Running is the bane of my life. Yet I have chosen to train for half Ironman. My goal is to run my first half marathon at a pace of 6:40 per KM. Target is June. Lots of work to be done to up speed and distance. Think that is a sufficiently scary target for someone who has never done any sort of running. Dullscalpel 1
