Hacc Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 The highlight for me was a female runner who pushed her baby the entire way in a jogging pram. I think she finished in about 3:40 or thereabouts.World Record was set last year October. I find it very upsetting when a stroller comes flying past me... https://www.runnersworld.com/general-interest/speedy-mom-smashes-world-record-for-marathon-with-a-stroller Andrew Steer, Barry Stuart, candz1 and 3 others 6

Barry Stuart Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) As someone with a 1 year old, I find it more impressive that she kept the baby happy in a pram for 3:40 Hah, a jogging pram was the greatest investment I ever made. 5 to 6pm was always my responsibility with the baby (when they're particularly volatile and my wife simply needed a break). I could get in a few km, with some good resistance training on the hills, and my daughter would settle down completely. Either just gurgling along the way or passing out. I think they love the motion. Edited January 30, 2018 by Barry Stuart candz1, Pulse and Andrew Steer 3
Andrew Steer Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 IANAP (I am not a physio) but given how well it held up in waterpolo, do you think swimming could be a good form of rehab for you? Brutally effective workout for your cardio as well, isn't it?Just back from the physio, small calf tear it seems, hidden nicely in the back though so hard (and bloody painful) to treat. A couple weeks out (and a few more treatments lined up) so as per your suggestion, physio recommends some swimming to keep me from going loco and keeping the fitness somewhere. Also going to focus hard on my bio - been a bit slack in that regard and this is usually how it ends up A bit of a setback, but also definitely a little wake up call - time to get my ass into gear. Need to have a very few good weeks after this in prep for Vaal. ScottCM, SwissVan, Barry Stuart and 1 other 4

Jaws677 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) I only noticed now. I think we have the first lady in the top 10 high mileage Strava group at over 89 km. Edited January 29, 2018 by Jaws677 Pulse 1

I assume she also started right at back due to the crowded starting line. The baby was fast asleep when the came past. Barry Stuart 1

Andrew Steer Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 So those running peaks I mentioned to you guys last year have really been a great success - we made some samples and sent them out to clubs these last few weeks and the feedback has already been great with several orders already placed. I've been running with my sample one for a while now and it's nice and light, fits comfy, keeps most of the sweat away from my eyes and functions just like I would hope. Thanks for all the input guys and girls, caps should be following suite in the next week or so for the follically challenged, just waiting on final production samples Pulse, Raab, Ferret69 and 3 others 6

Just wanted to send you a PM about the running peaks. I was tasked to get prices for our club for branded peaks. How do I get my hands on one to take to my club? What does the price range look like?
