Congrats Jess!

The strangest thing just happened to me..

I got sent a screenshot of a Run Zone facebook page congratulating their runner for coming FIRST at Karkloof 50 miler! I'm also a run zone member but don't attend too often if I'm honest so I don't know people or results etc. I did however recognize the name in the photo...

ITS FRIKKEN BARRY STUART'S JESS!!

First place lady!

Good grief well done team!

Same here. I went with the 230 instead of the 235 for the 13 hours vs the 11 hours battery life. I will buy any one of these two in a heartbeat, VERY happy.

FWIW, I presume you refer to the HR strap? Mine is two years old now and still perfect. I do rinse it from time to time and wash as per their instructions.

If you talk about the watch strap, well that is like new still in my case.

No.... The watch strap...I seem to eat through straps... But then I run daily and never take my watch off

Anyone been to "The Natural Runner" in centurion for a running analysis, for shoe recommendation?

The sweat shop made me walk and jog 10m in shoes till i decided which felt best.

Mike @ SBR did the full leg analysis a few years ago and i can definitely recommend him.

Never been to the Natural runner.

Mike is great, knows his stuff and does a great analysis. he is also super for Myofascial release and all round good guy.. also good for Bike setups etc etc..

Only thing I found is he is very Tunnel visioned on the shoes he wants to sell you post appointment... he will sell everyone onto Brooks or Saucony….and he had a little "On" phase

But he is a hater of Nike, Asics (only recently, he used to sell them) and Adidas... he will give you reasons why they are terrible choices but I'm not always convinced..

Nothing wrong with that!

FWIW, when we went to see him we were on Nikes.  He recommended for me in the following order, Saucony Ride, Asics Nimbus or Brooks Ghost.  I went the Brooks route and till this day I am very happy.    I did get a pair of Saucony Triumphs along the way out of my own homework and like them a lot as well.

It seems he does not carry a wide variety of stock and brands, being a smaller shop, so I guess he has his preferences on brands, which makes it very valid what you say, if you would want to look at Adidas etc for example.

I agree he is a very good guy to go see as well.

Nothing against Brooks or Saucony, I personally think the Brooks T7 was the best racer ever made (prior to the Vaporfly 4% of course) and I loved the Saucony Kinvara's.

They are both super brands. As you said its just mainly the 2 brands he stocks so he will always push you that way to make sure you walk out with a new pair of shoes...

Haha, thanks CBlake. I just showed her your post and her face lit up. It was great fun seconding out there, I turned into Eliud's Overenthusiastic Water Bottle Guy for the day. Such a cool bunch of people, I didn't come across a single runner that wasn't armed with a smile and up for a high five.

I have a pair of Dyad 10 and dislike them intensely. They really do not work with my flat feet. My Saucony’s on the other hand are an absolute pleasure. Not a moments discomfort.
