candz1 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Just as well...its a great watch and battery life is amazing. How does it perform with cycling? just in case I'm in the mood to take the bike for a spin. I believe it's predominantly a running watch. Fruity 1
Jaws677 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Serious question...what do you do with the pics from races? Regardless of the price...do you print out photo's of yourself and put them on the wall? I'm honestly curious? I have a couple printed of myself with some mates running during a race but seems weird to me to hang a picture of just myself running.Save then on my Google drive. Maybe one day when I'm old and lonely I look at them and reminisce about the good old days Sent from my Redmi 4X using Tapatalk Ronniek and travisza 2

Jackes Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Anybody in the market for a Garmin Instinct give me a shout. The owner got the unwanted gift 2 weeks ago. Its the black one and he will let it go for R4,600.

A few of the special ones are framed and hanging on the wall in our study / training room travisza 1

Don't really buy them unless Its a really good shot. Most of the races here are posted to Facebook or Flickr so I just save them from there

I believe it's predominantly a running watch.I does the basics fine (time, speed, distance, HR, averages, etc.) but doesn’t have power and a few other nice to haves - for that you’ll need the 735XT or 935. Barry Stuart Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) So there's a good chance I'll be getting myself a Garmin watch. As much as I was leaning towards Polar.... I saw yesterday that Sportsmans Warehouse have a special on the Garmin Forerunner 235. It looks like a lekker watch, and it seems to have more than enough features for what I need it for. That still rates as the best mid-range running watch for me. The features are perfect for everything from training to racing, the battery life is good, the interface is very well thought out and you quickly realise how well Garmin has tested it when you try to adjust something relatively random but necessary midway through a run and find that they've made it easy to do. I loved that it isn't overburdened by statistical minutiae that you don't really know what to do with. Throw in a great phone app, easy synching, plenty of customisation for the kind of information that you like, and an online resource for data fields to expand the functionality and it's pretty much perfect. candz1 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Sorry you correct..I looked at online price and its R4550 and I just assumed it was Sportsmans but it turns out to be watches online and ebay. Sportsmans is R6199 (less our 25%). Am I missing something, it is R6,200 on their website?

What a pleasure to use. Will definitely be using the intervals and workout functions of mine more regularly. Chap I run with subscribed to a Garmin marathon plan and it downloaded the entire plan to his watch... Can't see myself using that.. But still very cool Barry Stuart and Frosty 2
