shaper Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Go for that very special sub 3! The second half is very tough, especially the last 5 km.Will also be in for a sub 3, did a 2:48 last year, but will try and improve on that. Worst case scenario is to beat my 94.7 time of 2:52 ScottCM and Frosty 2
Mudsimus Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 +1 I run with earphones at low volume and I can still hear cars behind me. I find the music helps my rhythm and I also get my timing called out on Strava so I'm not relying on my own perceived effort (which usually will try BS me completely).I don’t understand how wearing earphones suddenly cuts off all awareness of your surroundings. I run with earphones almost every day. I can still hear and surprisingly see all cars, dogs and ladies coming in my direction.

Pieter1 Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Chaps! Need some help. I own a pair of the Sony WH1000XM3's over the ear headphones. I use them for studying and blocking out my wife. Sometimes at the same time - just kidding (in case she reads this and can work out my username). These headphones are great and I totally prefer them over Sennheiser Momentums and my Grado's (I have a thing for good music and headphones) But for running, I have always run in the Bose sound sport wired headphones - maxresdefault.jpg But they no longer make them and now everything is wireless. So because my old trusty wired headphones have been damaged, I recently purchased these.... 761529-00_conf_image.jpg But they are total garbage - too heavy and don't fit right. I also don't like the cord that bounces on my neck the whole time. So, I am essentially in the market for a new pair of running headphones and I am leaning towards the wireless Sony version of the over the ear WH1000xm3 which are called the WF1000xm3 130235-L-HI.jpg Has anyone bought these? Or does anyone have any suggestions for a good pair of running headphones? I will also be posting this in the running headphones thread in case those weirdo's don't see this post. Dude go wireless. I had about 4 pairs with that around the back of the neck sling thing and it sucks. At least it irritated the living poef out of me. Each time I thought I’d get one with a smaller voice volume controll thing but it makes no difference. Also it tends to pluck that bud out of the ear.
Craai Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 I reported that Indian chap to them in 2017 who very clearly cheated and they did absolutely nothing about itI remember that guy.... ridiculous they let it go. Baby steps I guess

Sound quality is great, sweat resistant (Going on 1000km of jogging) (and I’m quite the sweater) Also, they don’t bliksem out, although I suppose that is a personal thing that you will have to try out for yourself. I get about 4-5 hours of playtime on a charge The only downside is the fact that it doesn’t have onboard memory, so you have to tag your phone along. Edited November 21, 2019 by Craai

The one guy I know of results still show on the app. Would have loved to see him disqualified.

Unless a firmware upgrade which I haven't applied changed that. You can skip a song, but you can't re-listen.

Craai Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 https://twitter.com/ComradesRace/status/1197761001141264384 Bliksem... some people love running waaaaaaay more than I do.
Jaws677 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Managed a 2:51 at RAC Tuff one. Not as good as I hoped but I must lose a few more Kg's if I want to run faster times. Dragging a 100kg up all those hills are not fun. tjommies3 and Hacc 2
Mokgaga'a mmakubela! Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 (edited) 2:50 my first one. I didn’t find it tough. Got two medals for the Tough One and 947. ???? Edited November 24, 2019 by Mokgaga tjommies3 1

shaper Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 2.40 for me at the Tough One, could have been better if had not had a hard club ride on Saturday, the legs were definitely feeling it the last 4kms. Still better than last year, so happy IceCreamMan, Hacc, Jaws677 and 2 others 5
