We managed the extend the rear travel with a piece of pipe and and fork extenders machined to increase the clearance up front. I think the bike had a bit of variation in capacity. Not such a hairy ride by all accounts - the dreaded Rick Siemen (Super Hunky of Dirt Bike infamy (RIP)) rode one for a test of sorts. In the Blackwater 100 if I recall correctly.  Google should help. Locally in SA there is some madman intent on setting some speed record (I think) on a vintage 500 Husky 2 smoke.
