Weekend was 'n super duper hard test.  Went on a dirty weekend with mamma and stayed on a fancy hotel that has sweets around every corner.....for free nogal.

But I stayed on the semi right path.  Had good breakfast every morning.  Cheeses, bacon, eggs etc.
Only cheeted with a little chocolate that arrived on my pillow before we went off to sleep.

As for the whole weight loss thing, week 1 and did not loose weight as such.  Did do too much calories over the weekend with no bike ride in sight.  So there is that.
The battle continues.

Do you have any 'weight' to lose  :whistling:

Since my 'adult' life I have never worn a size 34 pant

I refused to buy a 38, even though that's currently "my size"

Used to be a 30, when I was in the UK. Trying to get down to 32 again, and I'll be MEGA happy.

It also helps that in addition to my now tri-weekly rides (riding went to pot after Tokai went up in smoke, and I've only just recently started riding again at another location) I have found a lekker little 25k route that I can do in 1hr30 at the moment. Close to home, so as soon as I get home (and I've confirmed that the wife can look after the rugrat) I'm on the bike and back in time to cook dinner for us.

I visited the folks this weekend...

dad came home with a chocolate from the shops and I said "I shouldnt eat that", he said "you can eat anything you want, as long as you go ride it off in the morning"

not even lindt 99% dark,only 2 grams sugar /100g?

almost choked the first time I tried it it is so dry - very near to cocoa powder.

now I love it.

only need one block to get a proper chocolate hit. I am literally more satisfied with one block of Lindt 99% than half a block of Cadbury confectionery crap.

not for everyone though...

Well here we are 1 week on. I was never over weight as such, just wanted to shed about 5 kg's and tried to cut down on sugar intake with limited success. Then this thread pops up and I was inspired. So what's happened.

Not much really. Still 1.95 m tall and weigh 95.4 kg's.

Started last week Tuesday morning, no sugar, no food containing sugar. This raised Mrs Plenti's eyebrows. Two days later I complained about the contents of my plate and was told to cook my own dinner

Still, I have persisted. I also calmed the boss. I did find day two and three hard, usual swim on Tuesday evening, felt like shite on the bike at my usual Modders night ride and too tired to run Thursday but then I felt great again over the week end.

I saw no stars

I crave no sugar

I do not sleep better

I do not have that much more energy

and I have lost no weight

I did pledge to give it a full month and I think it's the way to go, next month I may give up something else that's the new "not to be eaten".

So popped in to Caring Candy today... Not a massive place but they have some awesome stuff.

Sugar free sweets for when that craving hits.. Lol.

And some of the cheapest sugar free/Banting products around. Will go back!

I was given the tip to buy Woolies dates, remove the pips and put an almond inside as a natural on-the-bike energy snack.

I have been using for long rides recently and it works well for me, and if I pop a salted almond in, it tastes even better on the bike.

Give it a bash

k

I add pink salt to my dates - works very nicely. Usually bike food is very sweet

Yeah this is a bit of a deficit, supposed to only eat that little till you get to your target weight.

Problem is, my target weight keeps shifting...

As you get lighter and faster, you move up the seedings and find yourself in faster company and therefore need to get faster and lighter again :)

I eat the cheese instead of the meats to try get the fat content up a bit, it helps stem the hunger.
