Post on FB for a full indoor trainer setup ( Kickr, Headwind, Climb and Desk) Price was R20 000 then changed to R10 000. ( I've flagged it as a scam now)

Poster is a Charles Bowen but a Lionel responds with a number to dial.

Then the usual " Lots of interest, someone is on the way now, put down a deposit, ect" starts. Supposedly stays in Weltevreden Park. When I said I'm 5 min away just give me the address, lots of swearing followed.

Number involved: 083 483 3801 ( Truecaller shows as Lionel Plett. Tent April)

What accent did he have? Slightly outside of the mould as the profile is 2019 and I can’t find the images on reverse image searches. Interesting. Clearly a scam but green-flagging some of the usual red flags.

A common modus operandi when selling to a scammer is getting some fake PoP, arranging collection, and then a 'friend/colleague/nephew/driver' arrives to pick up the item. This normally prompts me to verify whether the money reflects in my account before handing anything over.

But are these drivers accomplices in these scamming operations?

Next time I want to play along and pack some dog poop with the guy, but unsure if he is innocent and unaware.
