By the moaning we are seeing about not making $ clearly insufficient.

Ouch, with a seeding of 0 surely you cannot blame the oke for having expectations of riding in the first bunch? Nothing wrong with at least asking why he is not?

I am a MTBer, i will pitch up with my 29er dual susser (that is where there is a extra shock at the back of the bike for the roadies that dont know - google it) with knobblies (that is tyres geared towards offroad riding - yes bicycle arent just bult for smooth tar roads - google it) on. Didn't care for my starting group, only hope was that it would be early and my seeding improved on my hopes by more than an hour so i am quite happy.  :whistling:

What is a MTBer?

This bike you speak of, what is it, never heard of a bike going offroad...

Well, actually its 0.09. I guess he probably missed $ by 0.0005.

If Spoke can add some muscle (for the sprint)he might finish within 7 sec of "The Hoff" and qualify for $ next year.

I think he smoked fynbos or something weird. I googled MTBer and nothing came up.

I mean, have you ever heard of a bicycle with a shock and then this dude claims he sommer has an extra one!! Is it for when the first one breaks??

This "thing" must weigh a ton.

I would say the 94.7 is more difficult. There's much more climbs and also steeper.

The CTCT is longer though and the climbs aren't that steep. It's only Edinburgh dr, Suikerbossie and the last part of Chappies and Smutswinkel that bites a bit.

However the "Gees" and scenery you want to do the climbs twice.

If this is your first CTCT and you don't chase a PB or any times, just have fun.

Have not done the 94.7 yet but have done the CTCT plenty.

If the south easter crashes the party you are going to have a hard time!

If you ride past noon in the heat those last two climbs are gonna hurt!

But you will inevitably have a jol

A MTBer is someone who has no fear of the wild. It is someone who will face any challenge head-on and who will not shrink in the face of adversity. A MTBer is someone who will not shriek when faced with a big drop-off, or cringe at a 26% gradient of loose shale and baby-skull rocks. A MTBer will accept the challenge, and triumph over it with sheer grit and determination.

A MTBer is someone who will ride the CTCT on a bike with fat knobs on their tyres and keep pace with road bikes. A MTBer is somebody who delights in the sound of swarming bees coming from their tyres on the tar. A MTBer is someone who is not fazed by the weight of their bike, but cares more about the next bit of single track - google it.

In other words, MTBer's are REAL men and women who live life for the thrill of it, not for the sake of it.

how difficult is CTCT compared to 94.7?

This is my first ride (I'm more of a weekend warrior)

It is not. It is quite a bit easier, albeit a few kays longer. However, most of the extra distance is flat and at sea level.

Sounds like fun. I should try it, hehe

A MTBer is someone that will come on the hub, state their time for the cycle tour and then write a small thesis of excuses of why it was not faster, heavy bike, knobblies, wide bars, flats, shocks, baggies....

A MTBer does not give a sh!t about time on the CTCT, only the Epic counts. Everything else is for people who can't do the Epic.

Epic is very 2010, the Munga is where proper men race :P

I couldn't agree more...although now I question my manliness?... The Munga is a couple steps out my league right now. That's pure insanity.

But let us not forget Amy-Beth Mcdougal's monumental effort in the first outing. That woman is the new Iron Lady.
