From my previous years excitement looking for bargains at the expo every year i walk away with nothing as the "bargains" is not really that. This year i am getting my numbers pickedup not even bothering to go.

What does the person collecting on your behalf need to take along?

Edit: Found it: You will be able to collect race packs for other riders provided that you bring at least one valid RaceTec/Winning Time chip.  However, please ensure that the person on whose behalf you are collecting has a valid RaceTec chip as he/she will not be able to access the start area without one.

Haven't been yet but 1 of my mates was there, He says it's best to take along a nice pair of trainers as there is ALOT of walking to be done because there is NO parking nearby. Security officers are blocking people from parking at McDonalds too.

I would suggest parking at Green Point Cricket Club or Waterfront....

Driving past Herengracht road this afternoon gave me goose bumps Setup is going strong. Just something about this ride that gets the skin tingling, if your a racing snake, chasing your own goal or just out to enjoy time on the bike without cars in the way.

Good times.

Did anyone else find the expo not as big and good as last year?

I expected to spend a good 2 hours in there. Took merely 1.5 and that included waiting half an hour for my ICE bracelet from Pedalpower.

Goodie bag was basically the same as last year.

I would like to know what the reasoning is behind this "No parking at the stadium" crap.

It was designed with public transport in mind. Rightly so I think. Allowing / encouraging huge numbers of vehicles into a restricted area like Green Point causes unimaginable traffic chaos. Parking further away and hopping on a shuttle makes a lot of sense. Imagine a capacity crowd of 80 000 fans all driving there - impossible. As it is, the stadium actually works extremely well. Going in by bike, train or bus is much quicker than by car.
